I don't mean to pick on you, but good lord. Are you saying you're just GUESSING it's the Jewish New Year? Meaning: you can't be bothered to actually find out before making your post?

 

Here's a rule of thumb for you: If it doesn't cause you to behave differently, it isn't diversity.

 

That said, what's so great about the Jews? Moses marched them around in the wilderness for 40 years and then settled them in the only place in the Middle East without oil.

Well, you see, we got tired...and then someone heard there was a Loehman's in Jerusalem so we stopped to shop...and, you know, we didn't feel like doing any more shlepping. So we stayed.

Bluenix - I guess my wording wasn't the best. From what I could understand the Jewish holiday starts at night. I wasn't clear if it began tonight or toorrow night. Also, it appears to last for several days as there seems to be a first night and a second night.

 

Anyway, I am far from an expert, I was simply trying to add a kind word, sorry it offended you.

Shame on you, bluenix! Here, someone made the effort to wish you a happy new year and you criticized him.

 

His intent was good and his understanding of the details wasn't. He admitted that and still made a friendly post. He hardly warrants a snappish reply. x(

What made me snappish was how easily such information could have been googled. I was thinking, why would this fella bother to post the greeting when he can't be bothered to take 0.48 more seconds to find out the date. But whatever. I'm neither sore nor Jewish. :-)

There was no need for Bluenix's reply. As someone who is Jewish and very much aware of the holiday -- I was planning to spend it in the same synagogue that my family has belonged to since 1936, unfortunately, I spent it in the hospial with my cardiac patient father -- I was deeply touched by Huey's post. He made my day. Thanks Huey!
