In the locker room today this really handsome guy I've seen before comes rolling into the locker room on his wheelchair like he's driving a sports car. The guy is really hot. Maybe in his md-30's, great upper body that he uses to lift himself out of his chair effortlessly. He's like a gymnist the way he tosses himself around. Very cheerful and talks to everybody. I could easily fall in love with this guy. This isn't meant to be some Hallmark greeting card, aren't handicapped people an inspiration post. The guy is just fucking hot! And it's nothing to do with him being in a wheelchair. This is not some kind of kink thing. So what's my point? In the gay world there is so much emphasis put on "perfection" that it seems people who don't fall into that category are mostly invisable to us. I suppose what I'm trying to say is, keep your eyes and options open. You never what will happen.

There are plenty of guys in wheelchairs I'd love to have as BF's. But be careful if you're a bottom--he may not be the best choice for you...

I have a feeling that if the guy you are talking about here read this, he would be completely offended. You dont realize it, but this is about a condesending as you could possibly be.

For example: Is there a reason that he should not be "cheerful, and talk to everybody"? Do you notice and write about everybody who you encounter that is?

Just the fact that you mention that is not the wheelchair makes me wonder about it.

Who's to say that he doesnt consider himself "perfect" and in the same league with the gay men that you assume are ignoring him?

And last, just how warm and fuzzy did you feel when you wrote this?

I'm compelled to reply to the above.

If the guy I wrote about read this post and was offended I would apologize. It was not my intention to offend anyone. If it sounded condesending then it was a badly written post and I apologize for that. The fact that I say he is cheerful and talks to everybody was a comment as to his personality which appears charming. It is something I notice in people and sadly seems in short supply. People seem very ill-tempered these days. I expect this guy does think he's "perfect" which is again part of his charm. I'm not sure how the rest of the world sees him. I expect the first thing they see is his wheelchair. It was certainly the first thing I noticed. It's an observation and only that. My second observation was how sexy he was. Was I "warm and fuzzy" when I wrote the post? No, I was actually horny. Since I don't ever remember reading any posts about guys in wheelchairs or anything else that might be considerd a physical "handicap" on this site I thought I would bring it up. Perhaps that was a mistake. Is it too sensitive an issue to raise?

Unfortunately, some conditions that cause a person to be wheelchair-bound also can interfere with sensation or function of anything below the waist. It is not unusual as well for secondary medical complications to cause a lot of problems for people in wheelchairs.

Actually many people in wheelchairs, especially once they get a bit older, find it extremely difficult to keep in shape. Because of the lack of exercise, it's easy to become overweight, for instance, in a wheelchair.

That was obvious. You said he was fucking hot, and you also said it wasn't meant as an "aren't handicapped people an inspiration?" post. There was nothing at all wrong with your post...now, you have to let us know if you pursue it (him) further... }>

I'm with Rick on this one. Noticing that he was friendly and outgoing has nothing to do with his being in a wheelchair. I expect that men who are friendly and outgoing to everybody in a gym are as rare as athletes in wheelchairs. More's the pity.

Assuming this to be true - why would it make a differance?

Actually, I know that you didnt intend it to be offending. I just like to get people to try to look at their words in a different way, to see things as they may be seen by others. I call it confrontational empathy. ;)

Perhaps you should srike up a conversation with "This charming man" (wasnt that a Smiths song?) and see if you still like him.

PS Viagra has been found to sometimes work on parapalegic men, just FYI.

There was a wheelchair bound actor named Mitch Longley on the Soap Opera Port Charles who was literally the most fuckable on on the show by leaps and bounds. HE just smoked anyone else on the show. And when he got shirtless LOOK OUT. the day he started getting love scenes, the show got a new dedicated viewer.

He also made a point of talking about how he could still function quite well sexually (to dispell the common misperception to the contrary).

He was and is still smoking hot.

Yum.
