Behind the scenes of 'Resurrection'

Hi folks,

 

As some of you know I'm heading down to Southern California in a few days to work on the crew of a new Hot House video which is about to begin shooting. I'll be keeping my online diary from the set, writing about the making of the video and hopefully linking to stills from the shoot (I'll also be writing some exclusive content for Hot House's site). This video will mark the return of director Steven Scarborough and will be a high end production: we're shooting September 6-14, which I'm told is a long time by porn shoot standards, and there will be nine people on the crew including yours truly. To find out who's paired (or grouped) with whom you'll have to read the diary as the shoot progresses, but here, in alphabetical order, is the cast:

I'm a team player. :9 Also I'll be involved with some of the photography for Hot House's site (http://www.hothouse.com) and in shooting some behind the scenes candid footage that may be included on the DVD or as additional content to the site.

 

Please post here or email me if there's anything in particular you'd enjoy reading about as the action unfolds on the set, any actors you'd like to see me get chatty with, etc. I'm excited about getting this behind the scenes look at a world many of us have wondered about. Sounds very interesting....besides writing about it in your diary, did you ever think of doing a documentary type video of what actually goes on behind the scenes? There is a recent movie called "The Fluffer" which is actually quite good (excellent acting and good writing,etc)...it does show to some extent the behind the scenes nature of porn but IT IS FICTION. You could actually show the real thing and possibly turn this into something with commercial possibilities. You could have a full XXX version which could be on video for purchase or rental and an "R" or unrated version which could be shown in movie theatres or cable.

 

Porn is something which facinates many people...even you. None of us ever gets the opportunity that has just been presented to you. Make the most of it and possibly MAKE SOME MONEY in the process. Of course you would need the cooperation of the producers, etc but you could persuade them. Mention MONEY to them and they'll be all ears.;-)

I'm bringing my camera down and they are also renting a second camera for me to participate in shooting a behind the scenes/candid type thing for their DVD and their site. This will basically belong to Hot House, although I've talked to Steven about possibly doing some interviewing/shooting for my 'Ho on the Go' documentary in progress. We're basically playing it by ear, though -- I'm being paid for my work on this project, so obviously I need to defer to his needs and prerogatives, which will revolve around getting 'Resurrection' in the can. Also, I've never set foot on a porn set in my life so my primary objectives are to a) not get in the way; b) learn as much as I can, as quickly as I can and c) do a good enough job to be asked back. Assuming this goes well we've talked about the possibility of building a symbiotic relationship, and I think gaining experience and meeting some of the people I'll be meeting doing this will give me a basis to, as you say, really make the most of a great opportunity. (Like a LOT of folks I fantasize about making my own porn flicks someday, so it'll be great to be there learning just how that's done!)

I actually pondered it for about a minute but then I had to make the big decision: do I really want to be homeless? Oh yeah...I remember that one. I can honestly say he is an incredible guy to work with. He listens, he supports his cast and crew, he keeps everybody's energy up, and he knows what he wants to see and how to make it happen.

Apparently he and Chuck Holmes were lovers for awhile and he learned the ropes from him. Steven also gave a lot of the big names in porn their start, both in front of and behind the camera. If I'm not mistaken (and I've been up since 5am so I may well be, but I think this is correct) he gave ChiChi Larue her first directing gig. I will try and get the scoop on your other ?s, Les -- these are just some seriously long and busy days so it may take awhile. I'm learning a lot though and having a blast!

Rex Chandler is still around the industry as a photographer, and a good one, if what I've heard is right.

 

He was doing a lot of the still shots for box covers last I heard. He's a str8 guy who knows full well what his looks and size do to a gay man and isn't afraid to use it to get the best possible photographs. I hear he's a real flirt during a shoot.
