Suggestions for Manhattan, New York Hotels

NYC Hotels

 

I used to stay in NYC quite a bit before I moved here. Here are some suggestions:

 

More expensive but nice - The Maritime, The Gansevoort

 

Less expensive and recommended - Hotel Chelsea (ask for a renovated room), GEM Hotel on 21st or 22nd & 8th Ave (nice, new, small rooms but that's NYC), Hampton Inn on 24th between 6th & 7th (basic but if you can get a deal, it could work)

 

For very budget accommodations, try the Jane Hotel on Jane Street at the West Side Highway. Most of their rooms share a bathroom but I think they are only $99. It's new, renovated and in the West Village. It used to be a place where seamen would stay but I'm sure it's seen it's share of semen.
