Gay guys on cruises

I had mentioned about a good number of gay guys on my QM2 cruise. I think what contributed to that is that there is a gay travel company called Pied Piper Travel with whom I had NOT booked my travel but there was a group of travelers from there. They gets groups of gays together to go on the same cruise. They take only a relatively small number of rooms so it's not like a completely gay cruise. So, you could either book with them or book on a cruise where they have a group. We discovered after we were aboard that there was a group from Pied Piper there.

Gay cruises

In another thread revival, someone spoke of taking a cruise that had a lot of gay guys on it. What are the various cruises you might recommend? I would find such cruises very interesting!

Happyguy,

I'll try to respond your question. On one hand you have 2 all-gay charter companies

- Atlantis Events (younger and party crowd) http://atlantisevents.com/index.aspx

- RSVP Vacations (middle-age/older folks and couples) http://www.rsvpvacations.com/

and on the other hand as dfw2sfo mentioned above, there are several gay travel agencies that organize small gay groups on big cruise ships, the most famous being Pied Piper Travel http://www.piedpipertravel.com/gaygroupcruises/

Finally for our lesbian friends there's Olivia http://www.olivia.com/

I hope this helps. If you're interested you can private message me and I'll be happy to provide you with more details.

Cheers, Steven ~

I've been on several Atlantis cruises and 1 RSVP. I have never been on a "mixed" (gay and straight) cruise.

The entertainment, variety of things to do, and general "feeling" of the cruise is much better with Atlantis. Now, it is true that there is a lot of partying and it is a somewhat younger crowd. But, as someone who is old, fat, and balding I still managed to have a great time.

RSVP was definitely more my crowd as far as age and interests. There were still plenty of parties and things to do. But the entertainment was far inferior to what I experienced on Atlantis. I got the impression that RSVP was trying very hard to be mediocre and almost making it.

I will definitely do another Atlantis cruise. I would also consider another RSVP depending on the cruise location. But, I'll go on RSVP with more real expectations that the entertainment is going to suck and I doing the cruise because of the location and to be with friends.

I've been on 4 Atlantis, 1 RSVP and 1 Pied Piper cruise. Atlantis gets older the further away they are from the states. I did the Hong Kong to Singapore a year ago and the average age had to be mid to late 40's. I was 68 and was no where near the oldest guy on the boat. The Baltic cruise I did with them was older as well.

On these big ships you sort of get to design your own trip, so many lounges with different types of entertainment.

I have a strong preference for Atlantis over RSVP.

Pied Piper is running the cruise I did with them again this year. I believe it's Buenos Aires to Valparaiso, Chile this time. (ship goes back and forth in their summer) Great trip, I'd do it again. We were lucky to have about 70 guys in our group and it was one of those bonding things, a fun time. Ushuaia, Straits Of Magellan, Chilean Fjords, Puerto Madryn, Patagonia - it doesn't get any better.
