I just received a private message from a good friend here at the Message Forum. He complained of not getting any PM's recently... Well! When I attempted to private mesaage him I got a message that his In-Box was full and he could not receive any further PM's until it was cleaned out.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago... A message was sent to my email address of record warning me of the problem... but since most of us set up "phony" email accounts for out Daddy's accounts we very rarely check them... Consequently the problem eluded me.

SO... You know who you are... Clean out that box!!!!

Hopefully the "powers that be" can possibly see if there is a better method to notify members of this problem... The old system gave you a running account of the number of messages that you had in storage and how close you were to the number of messages allowed.

Thanks!

I also have spoken to the individual in question. He assured me he will clean out some messages so that the PMs will flow freely again.

Thanks... I just sent the message and it went through...

I also noticed that the graphic showing the number of messages stored is at the very bottom of the page when accessing your In-Box... Therefore, it is not readily visible compared to the old system.

I understand that the message was private but why not just tell the recipient his box is full rather than hint around, or is it the intrigue?

Let's see Whipped Guy, Doit hmmm who might be the third in this triumvirate? Well let me message him and ask if I am right. muahahaha

A bit of intrigue...

PK... Well part of it was simply being somewhat a bit cryptic with a healthy dose of the "tongue in cheek" as well.

Besides I gave you an opportunity to intone your sinister muahahahah snicker... so it was well worth it!

Also, I wanted to make the point that a full In-box would preclude one from receiving messages. In addition, at the time I did not realize that under the new system the graphic alerting you to the number of messages stored had been moved to the very bottom of the page. I thought that it had been eliminated...

In any event, my message did go through... I now with bated breath await a response...

A (straight but not homophobic) former coworker of mine had been in the military and told me where a couple of these familiar

terms come from:

SNAFU - "Situation Normal - All Fucked Up"

FUBAR - "Fucked up beyond all recogniition"

There was another one that we could possibly [sic] co-opt:

POSSLQ - "Person of the Opposite Sex Sharing Living Quarters" which might become

PSSSLQ - "Person of the Same Sex Sharing Living Quarters"? Especially if we get DADT dropped ?

I think "bohica" would be good, which my former boss (who spent 25 years in the army) used to say. Means - bend over, here it comes again.
