I seriously think the internet will continue to do its damage to these places. Prague, Montreal and Fort Lauderdale are all great examples. A guy can spend night after night approaching old guy after old guy, getting shot down half the time, in hopes of making $100 for the night... pay house fees, pay for his alcohol sometimes, pay for dancing attire, give up his weekend nights with friends. OR he can create a profile and efficiently make $200 in an hour. It's a no brainer. The only guys who work the clubs are generally the ones who HAVE to. I still love the enviornment though... so even though the scenes have gone downhill, they still exist. For now. And for now, I'll enjoy!

 

 

100% spot on Jake....it is somehow very sad, but true. I just don't see many of these guys making much money off dancing alone. It might be a matter of not realizing what the other alternatives are. I have hired dancers for off hour activities, and more often than not, they are surprised how much some of these escorts are getting. I am more than willing to help educate them...

Unfortunately, Jake's observation is the awful truth, one that pains a strip club fan like me. Yes, there is usually a better bang-for-your-buck with an escort. Or at least for $200-300, you pretty much know you're getting a sure thing whereas a private with a dancer might be anywhere from look-but-don't-even-think-of-touching frustration to 20 minutes that rock your world. And as Jake and others pointed out, it's usually a better deal for the escort as well. But nothing beats walking into a place and seeing beautiful men strip all the way down. Watching a guy show off his physique, ass, and "goody package" for all the crowd to see is and will always be a huge turn-on for me. In the non-nude clubs, the game of chatting up a dancer, getting him to trust you, and getting to know first-hand (emphasis on "hand") what's inside his thong is a sh*tload of fun, a very different kind of fun from an hour with an escort, but still a helluva good time.

 

The one thing that might save the Swinging Richards's and Unicorn Clubs of this world is that there are a fair number of hot guys who are willing to "dance" for money, but for whom escorting is unthinkable because "I am NOT a prostitute!". The nuances are kinda lost on me, but if that rationalization can get a hot guy to strip down to a thong or less, then more power to 'em!!

Totally. There are two ways in this life to walk into a club and say I can have any guy here. The first is by spending an enormous amount of time in a gym, eating right 24/7/365, and be under 30. The other way is to have a well stocked wallet when you walk into one of these clubs. Having that power is the appeal to me. That's why I generally go with dancers I normally wouldn't date. I'm lucky enough to still have it together enough to get college age guys, but I can't get straight guys, and 99 times out of 100, I can't get gay guys who are perfect 10s. So yeah it bums me out to think these clubs are evaporating slowly. I don't think they'll go away entirely. I think there will always be a market for this stuff. But the glory days when the internet was in its infancy aren't coming back. Right now it's just web sites... I'm sure phone apps aren't far behind. If I'm a 21 year hot p.o.a., do I wanna spend my Friday night begging drunk guys old enough to be my grandfather for backroom dances or with my friends who are living it up?

I think the reality of why guys work in the strip clubs is a little more complex. They are often well aware of how much they can make escorting, but don't want to put themselves out there for just anyone who comes along. In the clubs they can screen their potential clients and get to know them first.

 

And there are some guys who just enjoy dancing. I ran into a favorite of mine at Campus last week who now has a good, steady civil service job, but still comes back a few times a month to dance, just because he likes the interaction with the customers.

I used to worry a lot about this when I first tried to hire dancers. But it has been many years since I've been disappointed. Having an extended conversation out front plus spending time with them in the back -- perhaps over several days -- help me find the gems. Many of my best hires are/have been dancers.
