oh my

I haven't seen you for a while. Welcome back. Kisses and hugs~~ :) I think Devon is a nice guy. I hope he is ok from this. :)

I know Devon Hunter and he is just as nice and considerate as he can possibly be. Anyone that would even think of doing something in a public manor to harm him is just plain no good.

Interesting ....

I read that playing in a porn movie doesn't pay what it used to pay before. I also heard that an important side-effect of playing in porn is that actors who are also escorts get clearly more requests from clients, mainly because of the extra expose the actor/escort gets from the porn movies.

Devon could get a lot of extra exposure from the current situation and I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to his benefit.

If he does everything with class and style regarding SC then I expect prospective clients to appreciate Devon even more and be more willing to hire him. (Btw, with this remark I'm not suggesting anything about his current approach.)

Of course, if SC does everything with class and style, that will be to their benefit as well.

Warmest, Anton/Amsterdam.

Anton, While much of what you wrote is true in a general way (especially in my own experience in Europe with Czech, Hungarian, German and Russian guys who escort and do porn to enhance their carriers), from my knowledge of Devon and his situation, this is a totally different thing.

Most of these actors use stage name(s), and there is rarely a hint of one being completely uncovered or exposed (except the occasional hiccup from Bel Ami). IN the case of Devon, this was downright a way of absolutely ruining him - name exposure alerts the nosey law enforcement to him, and now he would have a problem traveling from cityto city anonymously if the name was on some "watch" list. It would NOT in this way increase his client base but send clients running for thde hills thinking he is being watched.

It also has a negative impact on his personal and pivate life - as happened with another gay porn star (who is more or less straight and married) and who was "outed" by his own company when a client at a local fast-food chain saw him working and knew who he was (ahem... how would he now???), and had the guy fired!!!!! Playing with any guys real identity has more of a negative side than a positive one.

For Devon, I only hope he can weather all this - he is an exceptionally nice guy.

Admittedly, I've subscribed on a monthly basis to SeanCody.com a couple different times and enjoyed its porn offerings. However, after reading the way Devon was treated (especially the public release of his private name) I will never again pay SC a dime. There are many other high-quality porn websites from which to choose. This is SC's loss, not mine. I've never met Devon, but he sure looks sexy in his photos and videos--and his charming smile could melt the hardest heart! I suspect he is a survivor and will continue to thrive without Sean Cody.

Same here. I never supported Sean Cody but for a different reason...I mean c'mon a little COLOR wouldn't hurt for gods sake, and not not necessarily black, how about red, yellow, brown, mix it up a little.

I know...even McDonalds threw in caramel and mocha....shit

Six months later:

I just wanted to give an update on all this. I was in the middle of shooting my scene at HotHouse with Gavin Waters when I got the email from a reader informing me about Sean Cody and QueerClick. A minute later Gavin got the text telling him that his ex girlfriend had outed him as a porn model. That was an interesting scene to try to finish. I've never been able to watch it. I can look at each moment and remember too much about what I was actually feeling, and I don't want to go back to that space. It's a porn time capsule that I would prefer to leave buried.

When it all went down I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed; however, I took time to myself as I needed, and around September the noise finally buzzed itself out. At any rate, I ended up doing almost a dozen videos last year, despite the predictions of Sean Cody's disciples. It was funny for them to say, "You'll never work again!" because I could reply, "The scene with (insert model name) is going great today!" LOL I had a flourishing year as a companion, and I got to spend lots of time with high quality friends and clients. Except for that "blip," 2010 was an amazing year. I even got engaged on December 21, but that symbolic process is already described on my blog. Also, I am one payment away from bringing the balance to ZERO on the $30k fraud from my last boyfriend (whom I left in October 2006). Yes, I'm doing just fine without Sean Cody.

So, 2011 started with a visit from a great friend from Minneapolis. The day I took her back to the airport, however, my Grampa passed away. It's kinda amazing how you pull energy and inspiration from life's various experiences. It's taken some weeks to get back into balanced head space, but I'm feeling amazing again. I'm so happy! There's both good and bad stress, you know? At any rate, I'm feeling very energized, and I have all sorts of creative projects in mind. Specifically I am working on getting the dance company involved in performances outside our home geographic region, putting the plans together to start a gay-affirming adult media company (the home video I shot with DavidSF was an experiment in minimalism that I enjoyed), and collaborating with a composer friend to create an album of spoken word, poetry, songs, and other audio treats. I'm also achieving my goal of seeing fewer clients for longer appointments, and THAT is wonderful: There is so much more to exchange in those types of meetings. If you book only 1-hours, consider going longer with the guys you like: There's so much more to gain.

Anyway, I plan in the future to give Sean Cody and the other homophobic "amateur" sites a nice square punch in the gut (and yes, some of the other sites are just as bad). Competition is beautiful, yes? They have stopped their vagina monologues at the beginning of the scenes at Sean Cody, because I was a "gold star gay" in their ass. I am quite proud to have embarrassed them into doing what is right. The day I finally get this media company going online, I am quite happy to say that I don't see how they'll be able to show their faces in public once my business model, process, and structure are known. Their intent in revealing my legal name was to ruin me; however, they don't know the first thing about me, if they think I respond to bullying by running away. Six months ago they started the process of ruining themselves, because they inadvertently inspired me to make work better than their own.

Devon, what an amazing post of "six months later". Despite so much adversity, you have managed to rise above it all stronger and more courageous, and above all inspired. It is clear you have had an amazing group of mentors and people who made you what you are today (and so the loss of your grandfather at this time is especially bittersweet). You are truly a unique individual who anyone would be blessed knowing.

well

Glad that you are doing well. I watch Sean Cody for free so I hope that makes you feel better. Not giving them a dime. I will subscribe to your site though. I like your ambition for establishing an honest business. Good luck! :)

Devon, you're pretty wonderful. Actually, PRETTY and WONDERFUL! You've obviously learned that 'Revenge is a dish best served cold.'

Becoming the best Devon Hunter you can be, developing yourself, your businesses and allowing your entrepreneurship to grow is truly the greatest revenge you can have with any naysayers in your world.

Go be the BEST Devon you can be. You've got some real friends who believe in you.

Devon -- if there are other sites that are just as bad, I certainly wish you'd name names NOW. I certainly wouldn't want be giving them another $24.95/$29.95/$34.95 per month for 3, 6 or 12 months. Please, tell us: who are the other homphobic "amateur" sites? Or put it another way, are there any amateur sites that AREN'T. That may be a shorter list. Or is it?

Good for you Devon! You are a total class act. I sure hope you continue escorting long after you are a successful media mogul. You're one of the finest out there. Thanks for the update.

Stay strong.

What a crock!

For many of you following Devon Hunter's Blog about his experience at Sean Cody has been very eye opening. The blog has gained notoriety on most of the gay porn blog sites and seems to have spread like wildfire. In response to the expose, Sean Cody spokesman (trying to do damage control) did a press release (to QueerClick) discounting Devon's blog AND giving his real name.

I know there is a difference between outing someone who is wanted on a murder warrant and a porn actor/escort who has not crossed the legal line.

Please read Devon's blog and if you believe the results, then cancel your membership (if you have one) to the Sean Cody Website. Loss of revenue will hurt them more than anything can.

By the way, it appears QueerClick received so much flack about publishing Devon's real name they have now removed it from the article but the damage is done.

What a crock! What a total disregard for a person and his privacy on the part of SC. Devon, you have obviously risen above it and proven yourself to be the better for it! Keep up the good work, dude.

Suite703 is good to its gay models, and so is Dominic Ford. Randy Blue is good to its gay models. At first I named specifically who you should avoid, but I have opted instead to name who is gay affirming. That is the more constructive way to approach this. Daddy already severed ties with one affiliate ad over me, so I don't want to name other names and hurt his ability to generate revenue.

Devon,

I hope all goes well for you and congratulations on taking the high road and mentioning the companies that support their stars. Good luck on your new venture.
