I'm intrigued with this guy in the "adult services" m4m section. Did email him, told him I'm only in LV every few weeks, and got some pictures back. Somewhat terse replies, but that's not uncommon. His masculine vibe appeals to me. Just checking if any locals know him as he advertises quite a bit.

Thanks a lot.

Hi "azdr0710",

I am an escort based in Las Vegas and please do NOT consider this message as some kind of "self-advertising". I just would like you to avoid a huge disappointment. You can believe me when I say I meet many-many guys who visit Vegas and you have no idea what crazy stories I have heard from clients who used CL to hire guys. I know that sometimes for some people budget can be the main issue but besides the smart saying " you get what you pay for " you can get yourself into real trouble that you would want to avoid. VICE is huge on CL in Las Vegas. They might work a little bit in other cities but in Las Vegas they also advertise as escorts. I know people work for that department and also know clients who got busted. Trust me, hiring a well-reviewed escort for maybe $50-$100 more WORTH the effort! CL guys (in general) are either scam artists and trust me, that's the best case. I have heard stories when they stole from clients or simply they were drug addicts. Worst case they are law enforcement. They advertise very frequently because of their agreement with CraigsList. No normal escorts advertise anymore as VICE hire guys on a regular basis. My escort friend was here to visit me for 3 (!) DAYS from NYC. Even though I strongly recommended him NOT TO USE CL as a place to advertise, he figured he will boost his income while he is here. Yes, he got 3 calls from CL and the 4th was VICE. On the second day he got detained and arrested and spent 2 days at the detenction center. That just shows how big they are on CL. And whatever picture you see there, then you have a very good chance that that person is either:

1.) Not the one in the picture

2.) Scam artist (Meaning they ONLY charge a $100 but once you get to the bed it is already double OR they charge every single thing you would like to do and eventually they do not even provide anything)

3.) Law enforcement.

By the way, this posting has been removed! Talking about being "authentic", huh?

I honestly do not care whether you hire me or any of the well-reviewed escorts here in Las Vegas. But I do care about guys who hire companions (so I care about you, otherwise I would not have written this lengthy response). I know a cheap rate and a good looking picture would totally appeal to many people, but PLEASE go with a well-reviewed escort. I do not think it worth meeting with any of these 3 type of people.

thanks Peter.....your posts here the last several months have been intelligent and practical....appreciate your time with this....

I'd been cruising the CL ads for LV and came upon his tantalizing ad....wrote him and the replies were OK (some people can't write well)....some vague explanation about why he couldn't immediately send pics, but they finally came thru and they were great, but I now wonder about them.....just for fun, I may write him again and see how the reply is.....

I've "hired" maybe one or two CL dudes and they were OK....many others I didn't go with because they ultimately didn't look good to me or my detailed emails wore them down...(I like to make sure all will be good)....

by the way, is your friend who got busted in LV doing OK now?....can I ask what the final outcome/fine/charge was?...and have you heard of clients being targeted by law enforcement in LV lately?....thanks for your time

EDIT: his ad is back up.....he may've deleted the older ones, or they expired., or something...here it is from the 19th

Hi "azdr0710",

Thanks for your reply! Especially on CL and guys who ONLY advertise there have something to "hide" (in general.. of course there are always exceptions)! I have had a client who called a guy off CL 2 years ago and the guy advertised for $120/hour but because we called him at 3AM, he said he needs $220 (Now, that is a price of a guy off Rentboy or other websites). The guy was pretty good-looking, had great pictures and no attitude (over the phone) however no reviews either. When he came over, he asked for the money up front (never a good sign) but the problem was that the guy was about 20 pounds less than in the pictures, he had a cut on his face and in the pictures he had a medium long hair, while in person his head was shaved (I think he used a 10 yrs old pic or sth). I have been hired by a guy from Boston who hired a guy from CL because many times he can't afford to hire me so he tries to find "new talents" from CL. One night he did that and VICE knocked on his door. Their problem was that my client did not want to confess any kind of sexual activity in exchange for money but because they were there they figured they will arrest him. Later on charges were dropped obviously because they had no evidences. However, they did a search in his room and his part-time boyfriend had cocaine that he was unaware of, so he got arrested for having a controlled substance. Bailout amount was around $20,000 if I can recall that is what he said. So once you meet VICE even though you do not agree to any kind of sexual activity they just bust you, and bottom line release you but they try to find something on you so you can't get away that easily.

In terms of law, as we (hopefully everybody) all know "prostitution" is illegal in a couple of counties in Nevada. One major county is Clark county (where Las Vegas is located) and the other county is Washoe county (where Reno is located). If you agree to anything sexual in exchange for money in Clark county it is considered a misdemeanor. The bailout amount is $1,200. You can pay 20% and you will not be able to get a refund and leave as long as you promise to show up for your courtdate or pay the full amount and you are entitled to get 100% of it back (In that case the court mails you a check BUT only 4-6 months AFTER the judge's decision). And in theory you get 100% of it back, but the county (regardless of the legal outcome of your case) usually issue a $1,000 fine, so they just subtract it from your $1,200 bail. The courtdate is set within 3-6 months after the arrest was made. Never get busted on the weekend because you can't bail yourself out until Monday! :) Las Vegas is a very interesting town in terms of law. We have strict laws but we have an incredible amount of attorneys. The legal system here is all about connections. If your attorney knows judges then you have a very-very good chance of getting away with whatever you got into (especially true for "solicitation for prostitution" charges). If you ever get arrested in Vegas (hopefully that never happens) your best shot is hiring an attorney (worth the money). However attorneys who have the connections charge a lot more than others who do not possess the same "network" :) A good attorney for solicitation for prostitution charges usually asks for around $3,000-$5,000. (Hiring a well reviewed escort might cost a little bit less than that :D ). But with the help of these attorneys even though they have all the evidences in the world your case gets dismissed most of the times. Clark county enforces and supports the effort of "VICE", especially in Las Vegas. They work with full force, intensively and very frequently. It brings in a pretty decent income for the county, the police department and keeps the attorneys busy. As I mentioned, experienced escorts do not advertise on CL in Vegas because they know that they are threatened by law enforcement 24/7 (plus the weirdos - exceptions apply here as well :D ). By the way I can barely find any escorts who are based in Vegas and have never been arrested before. The more experienced escorts in Las Vegas already try to screen their clients through the phone. That is why you see escorts ads saying: "Please be discreet over the phone". That is not because they are shy to talk about it, it is because that is exactly how VICE operates. They try to record an audio (over the phone or in person) or video (in person) which they use against you at court. So if you would like to discuss any kind of sexual thing, most experienced escorts will not go into the details and/or they never admit anything over the phone nor in person (unless you guys kissed already or encountered any kind of sexual activity). Oh, and escorts should forget about the old tricks, like: "Are you a law enforcement officer... etc" does not work in Vegas! And I personally know about an officer touching a dick of an escort and then the escort got arrested and there was no way to prove that the officer touched his dick. The escort obviously thought that the other person is "cool" because that person touched his dick! Believe it or not it happened and it can happen in the future, so beware of that! Also if you do not confess any kind of sexual activity in exchange for money they can try to get you saying: Would you like to take a shower with me ? Once you say yes, that is another ground for arresting you if the money part was discussed previously.

The rip-off escorts I was talking about before are the following:

They usually agree to a price (they try to keep their rates low so you will surely come to see him) and then once he shows up after 10 minutes of massage if you would like to encounter anything sexual he asks for more money. If you would like to do something else then that's another $30... etc... and it keeps going on and on... It can be a real turn-off for many people getting an extra $20 out of your wallet after every one of these things... not saying that is how everybody does it on CL but trust me, I know what's out there and how most of these guys AND girls operate.

By the way, my friend who got arrested bailed himself out after spending 2 days at the CCDC (Clark county detenction center) and left the States before his court date. I told him that if he does something stupid like that, then he will not be able to come back to the States because they will issue a warrant for his arrest. He claimed that he is fine with that and he will just escort in Europe.

I have to say that everybody who uses CL nowadays for adult fun in exchange of money has a very good potential of getting arrested in Las Vegas. When VICE does stings, they usually gather 30-50 people in one night(!). And it does not just happen on CL. I know exactly that their main focus is on CL but they like to use Rentboy from time to time (an escort got arrested here 2 months ago who only advertised on Rentboy) and for girls sometimes they like to use Eros or Cityvibe for busting people. But eventually 85% of the arrested people are from CL.

I think the way this system works is pretty stupid and unfortunately it is still unbelievable that:

1.) A system punishes 2 consenting adults to make each other happy in a mutually beneficial way.

2.) They strictly enforce it in a city like Las Vegas where "prostitution" has a "history".

Our mayor has been trying to legalize prostitution in Las Vegas ... so far he has not succeeded yet.

Please let me know if you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them.

All I can say about Peter's WELL EDUCATED reply, is that I WISH someone would have posted something like this a few years back when I was busted (for advertising on Craigslist). As a fellow Las Vegas escort, I ASSURE all of you that he has "hit the nail" on the head!

I learned my lesson the hard way.....

GREAT posting Peter!!

Peter....thanks from me, also, for that great discussion....appreciate your comments

I had sort of thought LV, despite prostitution not being legal in Clark County, was still a bit casual about enforcing it...perhaps they're doing it to protect the city from getting a bad rep that might scare tourists away....trying to keep a lid on it or something....or maybe it's just an easy way to raise money.....

take care of yourself, Peter.....and I hope all goes great for you.....

Trust me Ace, you are not the only one who learned it in the "hard way"... I find it important to raise awareness amongst our "potential clientele" so they know what they might get into before setting up a date with somebody. Plus it makes me mad when I hear stories from clients who hire me and say: I just hired somebody an hour ago and took my money and ran away... Lots of scam artists in Vegas and VICE tops it with their stings unfortunately.

sounds like a money making scam to me....LV should stay out of peoples lives.

Well... This is the law in almost all the States in the US but it is only Vegas where they enforce it this heavily! It does sound like a money making scam, you are absolutely right about that. But hiring somebody who is well-reviewed on this website can make a difference and can make you "not worried" about the encounter ;) But in general, you are right and I totally agree with you!

You're very welcome! Actually, if you were in Vegas in 2008 you were able to see prostitutes or more specifically "streetwalkers" on the strip... Bunch of them, you ran into them in every 100 feet literally. Downtown's situation was quite similar too. But then VICE got an order from the county that they MUST clean up the streets of Las Vegas blvd (the strip). And guess what? In 2009, you could not find any (or extremely rarely you could) "streetwalkers" on the strip. The main idea was that Vegas HAS TO BE FAMILY FRIENDLY. People will less likely bring the whole family to Vegas if there are streetwalkers all over the place. So VICE cleaned up the whole strip. There are undercover police officers working on the strip every single day, hunting for women/streetwalkers exclusively. They act like tourists, go into casinos and try to see who is a "working girl". Once they think they have found one then get into some talking and bust them but that is mainly about the "straight world" and does not effect "clients" only the "working girls and strictly the girls". Mainly because there are not any streetwalkers/working guys hanging around the strip looking for clients (However I think it happened to some escorts (e.g.:me) that I have met clients in a casino). But it all has to do with money at the end of the day unfortunately. If you know about the "history" of Las Vegas, you perfectly know that Vegas has always been about "networking" and even though we live in the world of "corporate Las Vegas" the methods are still the same sometimes...

I wish you the best too and hopefully you will never ever need any information that I have told you :)

Wow, those were some very interesting posts. I did a quick trip to Vegas last September for one nite and was trying to hook up off CL. Out of frustration. I turned to the adult section and started chatting with an ex-army guy who was twisted enough to alternatively turn me on and set off some alarms. We eventually did hookup at my hotel but it was one of those encounters that did not go as planned. It was just OK. An amateur that should not have been escorting. Sometimes there are gems on CL but after reading Peter's posts, I won't test my luck again there.
