There have been several comments in this forum about the dangers of using Craigslist to find an escort. Here's a story that confirms the fears:

HIV-positive man charged with exposing others to virus

STACEY MULICK; Staff writer

King County prosecutors have charged an HIV-positive Lakewood man with

intentionally exposing another person to the virus.

Oliberio "Oliver" Moreno, 22, was charged last month with reckless endangerment.

He's pleaded not guilty and is being held on $40,000 bail. His next court

appearance will be June 15.

Moreno was arrested after a Seattle police investigation that began in late April

after Moreno's ex-partner contacted vice detectives, court documents state.

The ex-partner said Moreno was working as an escort and advertising on Craigslist

for adult services. The ex-partner said he feared Moreno, who tested positive for

HIV in late 2009, was having unprotected sex with other men, court documents

state.

Detectives found Craigslist ads listing Moreno's cell phone and an undercover

detective set up an appointment to met with Moreno for sex.

When the two met in late April, Moreno told the undercover detective he would not

be using a condom. He also said he'd just been tested and was "clean," court

documents state.

Moreno was arrested. During an interview, Moreno said he had unprotected sex with

five men. In a later interview with a Seattle police sergeant, Moreno said he

never had unprotected sex.

Detectives interviewed three of Moreno's partners. Two said that before their

sexual encounters earlier this year, they'd specifically asked Moreno whether he

had any sexual diseases. Moreno told them no, documents state.

I think this happens a lot more than people think. I don't think the craiglist has much to do with it. he could have posted anywhere. I saw on a show last year like 6 to 9 women caught aids from one guy. each woman thought they were in a monogamous relationship. 1 lady was even paying his health insurance that's how she was able too prove in the end that he knowing gave all the women aids because he tested positive at some point and lied to her when she asked him what the results of the test were..
