Anyone else having difficulty viewing pics on Rentboy.com today? I either get blank space in place of the pics, or I get the red X.

The pics have been loading incredibly slowly for me, using both Firefox and Chrome browsers. I suspect it has to do with site traffic as a result of all the Rekers publicity.

Their website has never been a model of efficiency with just the normal trafic it recieved. Add the tremendous increase in traffic it has probably received over the past week and you'll probably have your answer as to why it is sluggish now.

 

I'd be curious to know if they're going to get hit with an unexpected increase in their bandwidth usage bill this month from their hosting company due to all this unexpected attention.

I agree the added attention is probably to blame. I also do wonder if the extra attention is not a good thing. Certainly law enforcement must already know about these places but some crazies could end up booking false appointments or causing other problems for the guys advertising there.

The quality of Rentboy is debatable. I cant remember the last time I've gotten even a single call from the site let alone an actual client. Its weird because when I first signed up back in 2008, it was the main site I used for several months faithfully and a reliable source.

 

But then it kept timing out, or taking forever to load and I though it was just my internet connection. But I remember right around that time, things went downhill and I stopped advertising there.

 

I still post ads on there sometimes, but its mostly just when I have extra money to spend.

Either that, or a memory leak.

 

Something like this has plagued them since day one. The site gradually degrades until it becomes unusable, then they reboot the server and we start the cycle again. The extra attention may have brought on the current episode but it's certainly not the first.

I just left http://www.rentboy.com about half an hour ago and had NO difficulty accessing pics or ads. ...had problems a few days ago, so I'll just conclude that this is a tempermental site!

Well IF ya believe the Old Theory "ANY Publicity is Good Publicity" they definitely have gotten some good FREE Exposure or at least their Site Coverguy has on Cable News Etc!

 

A long time ago some one would occasionaly ask who he was..we may find out yet!
