Some people like it that way:

A civet farm in Liwa, a town in Sumatra, where the catlike animals eat coffee cherries. Their droppings contain coffee beans fermented in their stomachs.

Thanks for the heads up. I gave up coffee some years back. Remind me never to rim a civet.

This is one of those things you have to wonder how it came about and who thought it up.

"Ethel, I got an idea. Let's grind up this cat crap and make coffee!"

OK, this all reminds me. Who had the nerve to eat the first hen's egg? How about an oyster? There are plenty of things that are wondeful that, upon reflection, might seem unappetizing. Oh, well.

How about an oyster?

Further: Snails. Frogs' legs. Deep-fried hens' feet (had 'em in NYC Chinatown; scrumptious). Jellied duck's blood (ditto). A Chinese friend taught me that fish eyeballs are delicious (taste like very rich egg whites). Sea cucumber (must be experienced; no words will do). Eel, fried and otherwise. Sushi made from eel intestines (this is true).

I have never had "mountain oysters" but conceive them something to live for. :)

Mountain oysters are indeed delicious as well as turkey fries and bull fries. I have not as yet tried escort fries but have had them "raw" but, afterward, returned them to "original service". :)

Most grateful for the resource conservation. Could it be you are "greener" than you think? :p

Adam,

I'm glad you like them. But these in addition to pussy will most likely never touch my lips.

I lived in Sumatra for a few months and can confirm that they consume some exotic items there. I gave up asking what things were after awhile as it was considered rude not to try everything that was on the table.
