I have decided I'm going to get circumcised and I'm not looking for advice pro or con. I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with Dr. David Cornell in Atlanta. He seems highly recommended but I can always use more verification and I trust the men on this site for sound advice.

I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with Dr. David Cornell in Atlanta.

I don't have any personal experience with him but I think you're wise in checking him out. I'd recommend you research and see what information about him is available locally. For example

  • Can you research if there have been complaints filed against him with the AMA or your local licensing agency?
  • Have you spoken with any of his patients?
  • Do you trust the person that referred him?
  • Has he been published in any medical journals?
  • Does he hold any local or national offices with the Urology field?

Here's some websites where he's been reviewed. The first one actually allows you to get a medical background check.

Another poster suggested a plastic surgeon and that idea has some real merit. I'd had a couple of accidents and opted for a plastic surgeon to do the repairs rather than my regular doctor. I found that scaring was really reduced and I was very pleased with the results.

On the other hand, the doctor you're considering is a specialist in his field. I'd personally feel very comfortable having someone with his expertise doing the procedure. I think a Urologist has more practical experience with circumcision than a plastic surgeon.

Good luck but don't expect it to be painless. I understand it's much more involved for adults than new-born babies.

reviews

interesting that the reviews written for this DR are all responded to by the DR himself

its wise to read the negative one's and see his response to them.

i cant imagine a DR having time to respond to so many reviews but thats just me

what promts a patient write a positive review the providers request? or a form to fill out in the office

I would check out many options before drinking the kool aide as some would say

If it isn't too personal may I ask why you are getting circumsied?

When I read the initial question in this thread-- my mind went " a wondering," too! I've been uc for many, many a year and have loved being that way! The Europeans, the South Americans, and a few other non North Americans who've I've enjoyed have all been uc and hanging nicely!

But, as the originator of the thread cited, he was not interested in the "pros and/or "cons" regarding his decision. But, as Seaboy4hire stated, he'd like to know if he were not being too intrusive! I'm with him on this!
