YOU'RE that little critter that evolved into mammals? Wow...that means I'm here because of you. Thanks :)

I would prefer to think that I was always a mammal but thanks for the thought. :)

Best regards,

KMEM

Mammals have been around QUITE a long while. :)

I didn't care for the MJ or the Janet Jackson virtually lip-syncing Didn't flow well with the rest of the video for me. Celine was great so was Jennifer Hudson and pink.

"I feel like a dinosaur" T. rexx perhaps?

I personally don't like rap music. Take the rap music from the new version, and I would like it much better. So I still prefer the original version, though I'll probably download the new version because it contributes to Haiti and is historic as well.

I agree. The Jackson part didn't flow with the rest. Liked the original better. Oh well, Hope it serves its purpose and raises lots of money for the desperate people of Haiti.

Neither the original or the updated version of "We Are The World" has ever appealed to me in the way Bob Geldof's 1984 song "Do They Know It's Christmas" as performed by Band Aid. Now this was a truly remarkable song.

i think this is the one he was thinking of.

Thanks very much Josephga for the link to Youtube. As this is the version that was recorded and performed in 1984. MsGuy, thanks for the youtube link that you provided as that particular updated version was recorded in 2004 to celebrate the 20th anniversary. The artists performed as Band Aid 20. None the less, still not a bad version, it's just not as good in comparison to the original.

I guess I am in the minority here. I enjoyed the updated version and even liked that they showed respect to MJ.

Not sure how some feel Michael's appearance didn't flow since the area his vocals were dropped in were the exact same space as the original with some timing on both sides.

Anyway the greater point is people need help and I'm hoping this song will inspire many to do so.

Now this is a real flashback

I didn't care for the "rap" part either, and the black guy that soloed a couple of times just ruined for me, as he sounded like tarzan or George of the Jungle as he wasn't even close to being on key with the yodeling.

That was Wyclef Jean who is from Haiti and one of the executive producers of the remake.

strange. that was my favorite part. but i'm a jackson fiend, so i'm biased. i like the reference back to the original, especially since michael wrote it. and i liked seeing the sibling care from janet.

I Thought Someone was Choking on a Grape...

His vocal part was just distracting and annoying to say the least. He sounded like someone who was choking on a grape. I respect that everyone has a different taste and appreciation for all genres of music and for various musicians, but personally Wyclef's wailing kinda ruined the song for me. I downloaded the song, contributing to the Haiti relief effort, but honestly doubt I'll listen to it often in the future.

Im actually with you Jack. Kind of a tired song made only more tired by overdone vocals. I made a donation direct to my local haitian relief fund and skipped the useless download
