The NY Post reports today that 2/3 of New yorkers reporteharing sounds of sexual ecstasy from their neighbors, and don't like it. Yet they don't complain to the offenders. Perhaps they are like the women who lived on the shared wall with me. One night when things were getting excited in my bedroom, we heard an entire bookcase fall over on the neighbor's side of the wall. This was followed by a few giggles, so it was evident that they had been listening in, and happy to do so.

But I've also heard my share of horny women in motels and apartments. It never seems to be the guy. Like most people, I figure it won't last long, but some folks do go at it all night, and that's when I might complain, except that I don't.

"Yes, yes, yes . . . " No!

More than two-thirds of city residents say they regularly hear their neighbors having sex, but few are brave enough to complain about it, according to a survey released yesterday.

Getting subjected to all that ecstasy is agony, said roughly half of the 400 New Yorkers polled by BrickUnderground.com, a news and information site for homeowners.

But even though they bemoan the moans, bumps and grinds, just 14 percent of apartment dwellers said they ever confronted their neighbors or the building management.

Not only in New York...

Years ago, my female, next door neighbor had a boyfriend who would show up several nights a week. Her bedroom was on the other side of the wall from mine and even though we have brick walls, the backboard of her bed banged against the wall when they got it on. At first, the banging was intermittent, then faster and faster and faster, until it would taper off and finally stop. Surely, she must have known I was hearing all the clatter, but we never spoke of it. For me, it was not a turn on at all. It was really sort of funny, me hoping that they hurry up, so I could get to sleep. They married some time later and moved out. Now, I sort of miss them once in a while....

What a great and subtle way to get the point across. Of course, it doesn't say if they are enjoying the sex sounds or not. I guess the comment might elicit a sense of shame for some but I think a good portion wouldn't care! Would you care if someone else was hearing your sex noise?

That is pretty funny Kevin. I guess that I have never had this issue, except drunk people at Hotels, but one call to the front desk takes care of that. I think it would only bother me if it went on all night, otherwise, I would just chuckle
