From January 25th to February 7th NYC celebrates "Restaurant Week". Over 260 of NY's finest restaurants are participating. Three course prix-fixe meals will cost $24.07 for lunch and $35.00 for dinner.

Yesterday, I enjoyed a delicious Italian lunch at Remi's on 53rd St. I was given (had to ask for) a special menu prepared for this event. There was a wide variety of choices and, if I had ordered the same meal from the regular menu, it would have cost me over $12.00 more. If you enjoy dining out, as I do, this is a great opportunity to try some different restaurants.

Sounds like no special requests will be accommodated LOL

Here's some more info on Restaurant Week.

If you use your AMEX card to pay your check, let them know and you'll get a $15 credit. You must register for this program and use it 3 times at participating restaurants during this period. Sign up at http://www.nycgo.com/restaurantweek.com

Another suggestiong for Restaurant week.

Taking full advantage of "restaurant week", Foxy and I decided to try some of the so called "upscale" restaurants in the Time Warner Center (Columbus Circle)... These places require reservations...

Our 1st choice was Asiate at the Mandarin Hotel. It received stellar reviews in the Zagat Guide, claiming it to be the best in NYC. Unfortunately, when we called to make our reservation we were informed, it was "fully committed", first time I heard "booked" described in those words.

Another top choice in the Time Warner Center is A Voce (Italian cuisine). We had no problem making a reservation and were seated at a table with breathtaking views of Central Park and Columbus Circle... The modified menu had excellent choices and the food was delicious. I'd highly recommend it. However, if you decide to go, set aside plenty of time for lunch. It's a great place to engage in conversation or make a business deal... In addition to the special menu, "A Voce" also had restaurant week drink specials.... All restaurants participating in this event charge $24.07 for a 3 course prix-fixe lunch.

After a lunch like this, Foxy and I "walked it off" at the Equinox Fitness Center also located in the TWC.

It's a great time to dine out in NYC.
