Please just laugh it off instead. Don't you recall that in high school there were always a few people who would form a clique based on the notion that they were "cooler" or "better" than the other students and that therefore they should be running the place and telling everyone else how to act? Well, it's the same here. Some people need to form these little clubs in which the members tell each other how much better they are than the rest of their peers. It was of no real importance back in high school nor is it important here. So relax and continue to express your own individuality in whatever manner seems best to you. As one of the world's great religions teaches us, those who can't do without the approval of others are the true slaves.
