This month's edition of The Advocate has a piece on the gayest cities and towns in America, based on a pseudo-scientific method that is explained in the article. Atlanta ends up in first place (who knew?) and many other low-profile places are listed with a brief explanation of their gay charms.

It would be great if someone more talented than I could provide the link as I am hopelessly challenged in these matters. I heard about the article on National Public Radio yesterday so I went and looked it up. I think they have 15 cities listed if I'm not mistaken and perhaps some of the members here live in one of them. It would be nice to hear from them about their own personal experience about living in these enchanted places!

I wouldn't know how to evaluate the gayest anything but a couple of things do stand out in the article. One, far too many of the towns were voted "gayest" because of one political leader. No doubt, someone has to lead the way and I am grateful for any one or more that do, but if that one or those are not re-elected, things could go the other way quickly. Look at Maine. Two, the writer said it was all subjective, and I certainly can agree with that observation. No problem with his opinion but there is plenty of room for other opinons, isn't there?

Otherwise, fun to read and contemplate "things". :)

Best regards,

KMEM
