The idea of watching an entire series of a TV show at once appeals to me far more than watching one show a week, so how should I take advantage of Borders' 40% off boxed sets coupon? It's only good today.

I've read here, I think, that Skins is a good one, but which season is better? Dexter? The Henry VIII show- again, which season?

Thanks from me, and maybe from Borders.

So many boxes, so little time

Depends on your taste, of course.

The Tudors is wonderful, and the first season was a total hoot. Imagine a young, slim & muscled Henry VIII cavorting in the buff with various ladies. There's also a gay subplot involving a courtly musician and a nobleman. And many of the young men in this series are worth more than a second look, especially Henry Cavill, who plays the Duke of Suffolk. Yum!

I love Dexter, and thought the first season was the best, but all three on DVD are great.

Mad Men - this is my current favorite for season-long DVD viewing - the first two seasons are available.

As to older times - Six Feet Under is definitely worth a look-in if you don't have it, Oz was quite powerful (with lots of situational gay content), and The Wire is awesome.

The coupon was good until midnight. I learned that Skins was available only online and the coupon good only in the store. So, I bought The Tudors.

Tudors and Skins

The Tudors has turned out to be very entertaining. I am aware that historical accuracy gave way to a quest for ratings, but I do like the show.

As for Skins, I got Season 1, Disc 1 from Netflix. The boys are cute, but too young. In which season do they look more grown up? Beyond that, I can only understand half of what they are saying.

Never, as soon as the second season is over they refresh the show with a whole new cast.
