I have noticed far too many useless reviews seem to get uploaded each night. Guys are not stating where they found the escort, leaving simple questions unanswered like, "did he live up to what he promised?"

I am NOT looking for a porn book. However, a few words about he gives great head or he uses his teeth or he let me top him or something of substance would be nice. Especially if you're going to mark he is versatile (we all seem to have a different idea of what that means).

Simply stating he is intelligent, looks better than his pictures and was friendly does not make a review and even seems to break the rules of what should be in a review.

I would rather read a fake review written by the escort, than this fodder, as at least he will be upfront about what he likes and dislikes.

exactly what reviews are you talking about? Are any of the ones posted today exampls of what you are referring to?

As soon as you figure out the magic/science of getting voluntary contributors to live up to your own high standards, you be sure and let us know. OK?

Until then, we're still relying on voluntary contributors to contribute exactly what they want to contribute.

well put,Spunk...Reviews need to tell us something. Honest, straightforward. I can well appreciate creative writing etc.But really..concise and accurate are so helpful. Is he honest..? clean...? professional... hot...? top? bottom? affectionate? Does he touch, caress, kiss? Is he masculine? Mechanical,detached,bored,clock-watcher,good conversation... etc. These are so helpful. The "dripping cunt" school of review seems just not at all helpful.I'm not pushing for any monolithic single style here but I agree that the reviews need to be informative. As for escorts reviewing themselves or getting phony reviews...seems to happen quite a bit. It's getting so you really have to look carefully at the reviews and reviewers.

"Dripping cunt"?!?

Even in reviews of substance, some interest me more than others. Ones that only describe the sexual acts aren't particularly helpful for me; I like the ones that also give an idea of the escort's personality, or at least the personality he presented to that client.

I do agree, however, that it seems strange to review someone and leave out basic details like how you found him. I remember seeing one posted that had absolutely no contact information, though I think it may have subsequently been removed.

Why not simply put a caption on the review form stating that people who do not fill in every blank or provide a certain quantum of information will not have their reviews published? Or would that be too much trouble?

You mean something like this?

***ONE or TWO sentence reviews, such as "he was on time and we had great fun. Highly recommended" may not be published.***

It's already there. And people STILL whine and complain when reviews don't make it through.

I have been meaning to start a thread on this topic for some time. Like many I am very shy about discussing my sexuality and dirty little predilections. However, I read the reviews daily with a eye to hire and I admit for a certain degree of voyeuristic gratification. I am always put off by phrases such as "I will leave the rest to your imagination" or "I won't go into details." I WANT DETAILS. In my case I'm looking for a top with a sizable cock who will work my tight ass until he can fuck me until I'm groaning in ecstacy. So many reviews even for high profile escorts leave me wondering. What does he provide?

This is not a place to be coy. These are thoughts I'm much too bashful to vocalize but with the anonymity this site provides I feel free.

Well, I like to read the reviews; in fact, I am addicted and read them (or certain ones) on a daily basis. The reviews that I submitted have contained viable and pertinent information;-- note the last one that I wrote for Mack in SF. It appeared yesterday, and I wondered why, for it received an initial posting soon after I saw this "hunky bear"!!:9

Although I would like substance--literate writing-- and some porn in the reviews, right now I am ok with them. If I am interested in meeting a particular escort whose reviews are too general or contain a paucity of information are or just plain uninteresting, I just email the escort and fire away with questions I would like to have answered and proceed!

Bob, I apreciate that you decided to "come out"--so to speak. Your salient points, (which I found to be very titillating and downright hot) are what I'd like to see in the reviews; therefore, it would be very easy to determine whether or not the man (escort) would perhaps be suitable for me in fulfilling my sexual needs.

This inquiring mind wants to know the truth before hiring!

Previously I have asked for a specific type of escort and for details and/or specifics. Luckily, I have received a plethora of super-helpful hints and suggestions on this particular site/forum as well as through my box on this site.

Instead of "may not be published," how about "WILL NOT be published"?

And if you have in mind or believe that members have in mind a particular level of detail, how about including on the form some sentences from a published review that meets those criteria and that newcomers can use as a guide?

I always try to provide all of the pertinent details as to what an escort is like physically, sexually and personally. I also provide as much contact and website info as possible (my pet complaint is that many reviewers talk about websites but don't provide the links -- sometimes, escorts will ask clients to keep the sites confidential, in which case I would mention "contact the escort for website link" so that is clear). Being middle-aged and overweight, I also give a candid description of myself so that others know what kind of guys the escort is OK with (again, not enough reviewers tell enough pertinent details about themselves for the rest of us to use in evaluating the hire).

However, many escorts ask me to keep the reviews discrete so that there is no question about whether sex is being exchanged for money, which of course is never the case ;-) While the site specifies that it is "assumed" that such is not the case, and while most escorts and agencies have a related disclaimer on their sites, the reviews can still be used against escorts (and clients) by the authorities, even if only to harrass them (I know of at least one case where this actually happened, although no formal legal proceedings were initiated). As a result, I have become less graphic in my reviews (sorry, voyeers), but hopefully still provide the appropriate details to help others evaluate the escort.

By the way, nothing is TOTALLY anonymous on the Internet.

Long DETAILED Reviews

I admit I am wierd. I read the responses and look at the new photographs. Lately, at the request of two escorts I have been writing to I read their reviews. After the fifth one on the guy who had thirty plus, they all started to sound the same, even the details, not in the sense of being fake, as in not adding any new information.

The other reviews were interesting. Why, I cannot say, only that there were less than ten.

Guys still ask me if I kiss and go down on them even though they tell me they came to me from this site. I think there are factors here that have been touched on elsewhere. I have recently been with clients who liked me and said I was better than Escort X or Escort Y, who did not do this or that or short-changed me on time. I have always suggested to them that they should post on the site and tell that to others as a service so that will not suffer similar fates. All have declined, most stating that in spite of a negative experience, they did not want to interfere with someone ability to make a living.

And by the way Bill, I thought you were quite specific for someone who is shy. May I suggest Jason Markus or Steve Teron if you are on the Right Coast and Michael Brandon if you are closer to the Left. My clients both have very nice things to say about each man, neither of whom I know or have ever met other than to be friendly and say hello to Mr. Brandon, who I doubt remembers me much less knew who I might be other than a fan and an exchange of e-mails with Mr. Teron to compliment him on a very well designed web-site with great photography.

Good suggestions. As I've said before, the suggestion box is [email protected]. (Scary how easy it is for me to type that these days!)

It's not a matter of what I have in mind or what You have in mind. It's what HooBoy has in mind. Reviews are totally his thing, and ONLY his.

Personally, I'm against restriction. New reviewers are alread put off because the submission form says they may be asked to provide a phone number for verification. We actually lose a lot of reviews that way. One of my local pals has 3 clients that would love to review him (and he'd love to have his first review) but they won't give up their phone number.

I'd rather see the reviews be more free-flowing than more restricted. I think we're accidentally weeding out enough as it is.

But that's just my opinion.

He'll remember you.

It's one of the spooky and totally endearing things about him. He remembers EVERYONE. It's truly a talent.

I met him a year ago in Chicago for all of a minute. All those events and all those fans later ... in Palm Springs a month ago he walked up to me from behind, threw his arm over my shoulder, and greeted me by name (with a sweet kiss on the cheek).

As a client, I want to know what to expect when I meet a guy, and I have generally not found the reviews on Hooboy's site to be useful. When trying to figure whether or not to meet up with an escort, I look at the reviews to get some idea of what the guy is like to be with. ALthough it is good to find out what he looks like and what he does or does not do in bed, I really like to know something about the escort's personality.

It is nice to more than a couple of reviews for an escort and even better to have reviews tell me different sorts of things about him. Things like how he is in bed, what he looks like, does he have a clean place to meet, can he hold a conversation. I suppose that any one review that focused on just one or two of these topics might be useless to someone else, but I think it is nice to have a mix of different types of reviews to get a better sense of who the guy is. Three "huge cock and knows how to use it" reviews are only part of the story for me -- It is nice to have a couple of "Really funny guy who was attentive to my needs" tells me something extra.
