Some member posted his strategy on how he purchased his hotel rooms in Montreal; not many months ago. I saved the thread/page but have lost it. Does anyone know where it is? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

biddingfortravel.com is a website where people post what price thay were able to get a room for all over the world via priceline.....it helps others make bids that aren't too high or too low...

if you're really into it, there is some strategy involved with some practice and education needed about how to bid....may not be worth the trouble to some

the website requires registration and is a very busy and often-complicated place....lots of posts there and rules to follow....some of the moderators can get upset - "Sherri" in particular....

I often use hotwire.com if I don't care what hotel I get, but care about just the rating level

funny u should mention Sherri over at biddingfortravel.. She comes across as a total bitch. One time I followed what I believed were the instructions to get help with a bid.. and go no response. When I posted another thread asking why I had gotten no response when i followed the "rules" i was banned from the site...Eventually I was "allowed" back on, so now i will use the info there, but will NEVER use the link they ask you to use for bidding. I go to priceline directly when I am ready to make my bids..

But yes, Priceline is great for montreal hotels. i can usually get the Hyatt Regency or the Delta Montreal for around 50-75$ US, which is $100 or more under the current rack rate if you book directly thru their own websites.

I use http://betterbidding.com. There's no required registration to access the pages. I don't know if it has more, less, or just as much info as the other site. The people seem nice...but it's more just posting what people got.

azdr0710 and LurkerSpeaks, since you have accounts at the other site, which do you think has more info? Thanks.

Sheryl has been on extended sick leave and she is sorely missed as the postings don't follow the common sense rules that make them useful for others. Sure, she and I crossed horns a couple of times, but, as they say, it is her sandbox, and I need the info provided.

biddingfortravel.com I have found has been really helpful for bidding on hotel in the mid west where I go most often. So far I've won bids in Chicago and Milwaukee at hotels that I found nice and often exceeded my expectations. It was Rick who turned me onto biddingfortravel.com. No more then $65 a night at a very central hotel in downtown Chicago that is four star sounds good to me! Four star hotel in Milwaukee for $55? SOLD! While some might poo poo PL I have become a fan of the site and encourage others to use it as well.

Hugs,

Greg
