And? Any further word? And is either of these clubs run or going to be run, by Scott, who did such a mediocre job in the last incarnations? Are the dancers all still skinny and street, and have they gotten some grown-up boys? It always boggles me that these clubs got so bad so fast, and I'm dizzy trying to figure out what's where....in fact, in Providence tonight and didn't bother try to find the new 727, for fear I'd only find that Scott is still running it, oblivious as ever to how to make it better....

I went this past Saturday night. Adequate lineup of dancers. More were on the heavy, beefy side than I prefer; only a couple of cute twinks. But all the boys were friendly, affectionate, and permitted quite a lot of groping down into the drawers during table visits for nominal change stuffed under the waistband. I was there with an escort, both of us just looking and fondling, so did not try a private. But again, soon!

LOL, I'm still confused...which bar is run by whom, and which one is currently open, etc etc.

As for the beefy guys, I like variety and am glad to hear that something BESIDES just skinny twinks is available.....To me the perfect strip club will be a nice mix of muscle, ethnicity, beefy, thin, hairy and not, etc.

In other words, something for everyone, and like the gaiety, where there was always something to amaze....

My first visit was last night... I guess after being to the Montreal and Ft Lauderdale spots, the bar was set a little too high.

This place looks like a restaurant that someone threw a couple club lights up at and decided to drag some guys in off the street.

There were about 5 or 6 dancers. Only 2 were remotely attractive. The private dances are done in an abandoned office broom closet.

The neighborhood is pretty sketchy too.

Not the most memorable experience, but glad I went.

Agree. I went weekend before last, and was glad to see it still alive, in whatever form. But fully agree the setting, both inside and out, is not so appealing. And of the dancers, I liked one twinky guy; the rest were too beefy and, thus or otherwise, not appealing to me.

ShareSo, 2xcess: Male Zone has finally moved out of Energy (and taking all of the energy with it). Energy is now limited to funny-tasting liquor and XM satellite radio. Bummer.

In any case, the new 2xcess will be open and operational by the end of the week in their old location on Allens Ave., presumably with the added abilities of their very unique entertainment license, and under a new name, no less. Originally, the “new” strip club was going to be called Prestige, definitely a move up — likely in effort to attract a “classier” clientele, which that area is sorely in need of. But then Rodney from RI Pride swoops in with his own ideas — a new name, ready-made website, logo, the works — and for lack of a better reason (and because Rodney did it for free, which completely devalues that type of work and does a disservice to those who would otherwise charge for design services), the new place will be called….

TOUCH: Providence

Wait, what?! It might as well just be called “Come, Feel Us Up”! So much for being clever. Well, maybe the new name isn’t completely inappropriate, because most of the kids working there have been touched by most of Providence — so really, Providence will be touching you.

Sexy!

Can't Find Anything on "Touch"

I did a little bit of hunting and googling, and can't find anything about the "new" club. I'm not sure that means anything, other than that they don't know much about using the Internet.

It does take some work for a site to show up reasonably high on google searches, and I wasn't going to go through the 158,000 google listings for "touch gay club providence ri." I guess they got what they paid for when (if) they launched their new website.

They haven't bothered to update the "coming soon" flash at the old 2Xcess/Trixx site, or even to add a listing to sites like Damron or even Edge (the local GLBT newpaper).

They're not going to be in business for long if that's all they know about advertising on the web in this economy. I haven't been to Providence in a while - does anyone know if they're open on Allens Avenue? What about 727 across town?

It looks from the website that Touch's Grand Opening is Wednesday, November 25th...just in time for Thanksgiving...lol.

so, who's on first? what's on 2nd??...uhhhh

Can someone clarify the Club situation in Providence for us out-of-towners? Any muscle / college type guys to be found?

Club(s) in Providence

So far as I know 727 is the only male strip club in Providence right now. If the previous post is correct, that will change next week when 2Xcess (or whatever it's called) will re-open on Allens Avenue.

727 is a 10-15 minute drive away from the Allens Avenue area, actually in Cranston, I think. It's in a dumpy neighborhood, but not far from the highway, and the parking lot is fenced in with a "security" guy keeping an eye on things.

Kind of a small place, about a dozen small tables in the main room with the stage. There is a mix of dancers - a few twinks, some more muscular guys, and some "average" types. The last time I was there, there were several latino dancers, including one cute guy who speaks almost no English. There is a downstairs that was supposed to become a lounge area with sofas instead of tables and chairs, but it's never been finished.

Private dances are downstairs in a little closet with a bare light bulb and a barstool. But I've had almost as much fun in the main room - it isn't very well lit, and some dancers will be very affectionate and accommodating if you tip regularly and keep it discreet.

I haven't been there in several weeks, but I'm told it's still open. Not the most glamourous place, but it will do.

Flying into PVD next week

Thanks for that review. I'd been to Trixx once on a previous trip and was dismayed to get ripped off by "Anthony", a straight who promised much in private, but delivered little. The other dancers were ok.

I had MUCH more fun at 727 on two other nights. I do like the younger smooth types, and they were in abundance, in addition to some others. A built Asian hottie who was so new, he was almost embarrassed to be there was really appealing.

When I was there, they had tried to open the basement, but had had a flood there the day before. They were planning on re-opening it the following week, and it would be all nude. I do get to fly back to PVD next week, and was hoping to see that! But from reading these posts, it seems it hasn't happened yet. Oh well, as it's been pointed out, the boys here are so eager and "compliant" that it doesn't really matter, I suppose.

But now I'm intrigued about the re-opening of 2xcess! I do see the new website, I see it was supposed to open last week. I'm eagerly wondering what you guys think! I need to know where to spread my meager funds among underwear waistbands!

Thanks!

Touch decent?

Make sure you see Jake's post in another thread about Touch over the weekend.

I may stop in to see what "Wet Wednesday" is like, however, it may be not worth staying based on his report. I plan to spend all of my one's at 727 this week!!

727/Touch Report

Hope that someone will pay a visit to Touch / 2xcess this weekend and give us a full-blown, down & dirty report. Is this new club worth the drive from New York City?

Appreciate any feedback!

Hi there,

[First, let me say that I only get to visit these placed on wherever business trips take me, unfortunately, so seldom to the hot-spots like NYC, Montreal, Atlanta. So my experiences are probably more that of a wide-eyed newbie than folks of your "accomplishments". I'm hoping that finding this cool forum will help me learn more about the "extra-curricular" activities that people mention here but politely don't elaborate on. ;) ]

I flew in on Wednesday this week, and was intrigued by "Wet Wednesdays" announced on their website. I had been to Trixx on previous visits: About the only thing different is they pulled the main stage toward the bar. If they had shower shows before, I certainly didn't know about them, so I'm counting that as a BIG new thing. I had never experienced an interactive shower show. Justin, a well-hung, friendly college type and a bigger, beautiful black guy, also well-hung, stood there under somewhat-warm water spraying over them. Since I'd been to a few bars with shower-shows where you just watched, I thought that was it. Then Justin came over to me on the seats with lotion. "Will you lather me up?" (gulp) Oh HELL yah! I happily lathered ALL of him. This was repeated with the other beautiful male too. One other guy was watching/participating, up near the open-bay shower so went up there and helped with the lather/rinse/repeat cycle. I loved it!!! They finally had to stop because of a lack of warm water, but Justin urged me not to go since someone had to towel him off. I took my time. :) When they'd gone, I threw a nice tip in the bucket for them.

Other than that, the mix of boys was good. I only saw one huge dude, a friendly Italian: not interested. (There were two others on Thursday.) Keenan, the twink wonderboy was there, extremely effeminate, but that's not stopped me getting a private with him at 727 before, enjoying all of that tight body. ;) Elias was a small, but very engaging Latino that I eventually took to a private room for a lot of fun. He didn't seem at ALL concerned about the one-song rule in there and seemed to honestly be enjoying himself as much as I was in there. There were probably 4 other swimmer-bod types there over Wednesday/Thursday night: a wonderful selection. Anthony, a smirking straight street-thug type who had ripped me off before was gone! Thursday night was almost dead for customers, so I had my pick of attention. Mmmmm. It apparently picks up a lot on the weekends, and the shower shows continue, normally with three guys. It's a good thing I don't live near there, or I'd be broke!

727 was nice on Wednesday night. Floor below is still not open, but they're working on it. Pedro was very attentive, very affectionate and I managed to produce the thickest man-meat I'd ever seen as we were having some table-side fun in the main room. Whew. I can't imagine anyone taking THAT! Warren followed him, a wonderful, rather huge black guy. Very affectionate and a lot of fun to talk to, and touch. I prefer swimmer-build's, normally, but both of them were great to spend some time with. It was 1am and they closed, so I had to return on Thursday night. Very disappointing: neither of them were there and only three moderately interesting dancers were there, with Chris being the only one of interest to me. He and I talked a while in that little alcove spot they have right of stage, having some simple fun under the table and I eventually took him to that awful little private room off to the right, up front, with an open window outside and only a lock on the outside of the door. But he was a wild boy and we had fun. He didn't seem too worried about the one-song rule either. ;) I KNOW this place is more fun other nights, because I've been there. The boys at both spots said that the sudden bitter-cold weather was keeping guys away those two days.

Well, I certainly got warm at both spots this week!

Is it worth coming down from NYC? I have no idea, since I've never been lucky enough to have some NYC fun. If it were me, I'd say hell yah, go to both (about ten minutes apart) and settle on the best one for each night!

727 Closed?

I went by 727 on the evening of 12/12 - it had been turned into a little restaurant. I got there around 10PM, and it was empty except for a couple of people at the bar. The main room had been re-arranged - the stage was still there, but the tables were set for dining. So I went drove over to Touch (formerly 2Xcess/Trixx) for the evening. I'll post a separate report on that thread.

BTW - the 727 website (http://www.727ri.com) says it's "closed temporarily due to facilities issues."
