yup. this year i spent about half my time with a photographer friend of mine. it was a different way to experience the fair for me.

I have been to Folsom the last few years and I am amazed at how well behaved everyone is. When in the middle of the crowd, literally 10's of thousands of people, there is minimal shoving/pushing, everyone seems content to enjoy the experience. I can honestly say that I haven't seen even one display of mean or discourteous behavior (I am sure it occurs, I just haven't seen it). Yes, there are displays that may make the faint of heart gasp, but even those displays are so non-threatening and civil that you get the sense that everyone is on their best behavior. Also, when the fair ends, everyone seems to disperse we great efficiency and within a matter of hours, the street has been cleaned and re-opened. My hat off to the GLBT community and the city for role-modeling how such a unique gathering can take place.

I video'd it two years ago and gave it to my brother to get into a ten-minute video to upload, but he couldn't get it to less than 14 minutes, so I guess it will never be seen.
