About the only movie playing here that might interest me is taking Woodstock. Does anyone recommend it? District 9 looks too cheesy. Am I right?

I thought In the Loop was going to be fun, but I couldn't understand half of what the Brits were saying. 500 Days of Summer bored me. The last film I liked was The Hurt Locker.

Palm Springs is boring right now. The local amateur theater is rehearsing the Music Man. Temperatures next week will finally be under 100, so some things are looking up.

Other than Brazil, I have had to go to San Diego for fun. This week is 39 Steps at the LaJolla Playhouse.

The tourists should be returning in a month or two- things liven up then.

well

District 9 is a good movie. I didn't like In the Loop because there were so many f words. Luckily I didn't pay for the movie. 500 days of Summer was so cute and I like the way it ended. I would never married a girl like Summer though. Not being judgmental but I just couldn't understand her. Have you seen "Adam"? I think that movie is good. I am going to see that movie soon. Wanna go together? I can sing you a song on our way to a theater. You can be a judge whether I can compete in American Idol. It is unlikely to happen because I am a bit unfortunate looking but I may borrow your avatar for the show.

I don't typically like the District 9 type of movies, however, this was a good flick. Taking Woodstock was predictable, somewhat boring, and not worth a trip past the couch to watch it.

It may be my One and Only. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. It's nice that we can always help each other out on something like this. Thanks.

I loved District 9. With the social commentary in the movie I suspect we'll be talking about that movie in years to come.

I've also seen the following movies this week:

500 Days of Summer: highly recommended

The September Issue: excellent documentary on Anna Wintour

Big Gay Musical: cheesy but cute fun movie

Whiteout: just ok, a renter thriller

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt: awful, what was Michael Douglas thinking?

Extract: very funny office movie

on Broadway I saw:

God of Carnage: acting good but I thought I was seeing a high school play

Next to Normal: excellent musical!!!

A Steady Rain: great 2-man play with Hugh Jackman & Daniel Craig
