My post addressed the question (as I recast it):- Would you give up casual sex/escort relationships for Mr. RIght -- the assumption being that was the price for the LTR.

 

There are 256 shades of gray in an eight bit world. I was addressing the ends of the spectrum. Is that all there is? Definitely not, but there seems to be a lot of it.

 

THere is also middle ground too -- some based on stable emotional relationships, some based on comfortable convenient relationships. Your comments apply but that was not the question I was addressing.

 

We all like to have our cake and eat it too, even in small hour bites -- me included. The (hypothetical) question I was addressing is: if we cannot then what would we choose? In this instance the ends of the spectrum constitute the entire spectrum, no?

 

Given this narrow question, I wonder how the majority of middle grounders would reply?

Personally, if the man I wanted posed me such a question, I would know that he was not in love with the real me. Can't wait til you've married the man to try to change him?

 

And I would know that he expects me to live, as has been said, by the tenets of a philosophy I disagree with.

 

So, I am afraid that, if I were being rational, I would have to break off the relationship.
