Exotic Dancer Wins Big

A court in Quebec has decided in favor of a female stripper who does not have to pay taxes on about $2million she "earned" from a wealthy client over a two year period. Canada Revenue had argued that she owed income tax of over $400,000 and Quebec Revenue was seeking about $600,000 in back taxes(yes, Quebec collects more taxes than the feds!).

 

They lost! The judge of the federal court ruled that the money was in the nature of "gifts", which are not subject to tax in Canada. The ruling only applies to the federal portion of the taxes claimed but will have an effect on the judge deciding the provincial claim.

 

The gifts included an expensive car, a house, cash and jewellry. Ain't it great!!!
