What would be truly devastating would be having to spent a whole night in an airport with you - signal or no signal.

Yeah, cause you'd be there all night just wishing you could do something with me, but being in a public place and all...you wouldnt :(

I believe that the frequently quoted trio of death/divorce/moving was based on the theory that the primary causes of stress in a person's life result from change in his normal routine. Therefore, someone who gets divorced, moves to another city, starts a new job and quits smoking (hi, Greg!) all at the same time, is going to be under severe stress. It's not a theory that I am really ready to buy.

In my experience, the most severe cause of stress is death of a loved one, whether partner, child, parent, other close relation, friend or even beloved pet. After that, for me, comes responsibility for a loved one, particularly one who can not (or can no longer) take care of him/herself. Third would be job responsibilities, especially if they impact the welfare of others. I find that change, if it is voluntary, is often liberating rather than stressful: when I retired early, chucked many of my possessions, and moved across country to someplace totally new to me, I felt wonderfully stress-free.
