As i'm being hassled by the BF to go and see this movie i just wondered if anyone saw it last night and what did they think it's been everywhere this week simply because Sony are desperate for a $100 mill opening weekend before Episode 2 rolls along in a couple of weeks so anybody go..Hagen ? is it any good even though they are using Curve to promote it :7

Spiderman is a rollicking good time. Toby McGuire is easy on the eyes but I think his Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, is actually gay. In high school he has only one friend, rich kid Harry Osborne (played by James Franco, pictured below.)

Even though Peter Parker professes to have a crush on his next door neighbor MJ (Kirsten Dunst), it is obvious that there is something between him and Harry. Peter doesn't have the nerve to ask MJ out and looks on all goo-goo eyed as Harry puts a move on her. And Harry is actually prettier than MJ (who still reminds me of that creepy kid vampire from "Interview With A Vampire.)

After high school, the boys live with each other in an expensive Manhattan loft and Harry hides the fact that he is dating MJ, no doubt because he does not want to damage his love affair with Peter.

The biggest Gay-dar ping comes when MJ professes her love for Peter and Peter says - "honey, I can offer you friendship. That's all I have."

Oh what a tangled web we weave!

Thanks Hoo i knew someone would come up trumps and the picture swung it for me :9,actually what swung it was the BF agreeing to pay ! so tomorrow it is if its boring i can just think of the gay stuff they can put in the sequel.

I saw it today, and I really enjoyed it. McGuire is very good in the role, and like Hoo said, is easy on the eyes. His 5 months of workouts before filming paid off; his bod is gorgeous (he has a beautiful ass!).

I think the whole gay thing is wishful thinking on Hoo's part! :*

It's funny you should mention that.

In the last issue of Amazing Spider-Man (written by regular writer and Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski), Aunt May finally learned the truth about Peter. In one panel, she said she always knew Peter was hiding something. In fact, she had wondered if he was gay!!

Spidey spins his way into record books

Well the 1st day B.O shattered every record in the book $41,413,000 against the previous record of $32.3 million for Harry Potter and looks as though the $100 million weekend is on,see classic comic book+boffo special effects+2 cute boys =BIG BUCKS :+.

Now will they get naked in the sequel?.

I saw it last night. I really liked it. Before I read anything on the mb, I was saying that Peter was gay. Wouldn't that be cool? Either way, it is a good movie and worthe the money for the ticket.

I just got back from seeing the movie, and I definitely recommend it. I've had the hots for Tobey Maguire ever since the couch scene in Donnie Darko, and this film shows him off quite well. :)

Peter Parker's transformation from skinny high-school nerd, to acrobatic, web-spinning hunk, is fascinating, as are his first, initially clumsy, attempts to master his new abilities.

I especially liked the the chase-camera style scenes of Spider-Man swinging through the city.

Oops! You're right! I was confusing him with someone else. I should know better, I even have the Donnie Darko DVD.

but you gotta admit there's a similarity between Toby and Jake Gyllenhaal (donnie darko).

It was a great movie; lotsa fun. The only thing that bothered me is that i'm so old, i remember when cliff robertson was a hunk! (what's the deal with his hair, anyway? really bad plugs? weave?)
