Well, if you think it is going too far, why do you spread it? Can you not maintain your own sense of integrity? These are private photos and I think it is a shame that you saw fit to post the link here.

Just as an fyi: Dustin Lance Black was graduated from the school where I taught for many a year. Recently he came back as its featured speaker and was highly, highly received by the students. Two of my best friends and colleagues at the school (both women) relayed that the assembly was the BEST one that they attended in many a year. Apparently the students were quite well-behaved as well as respectful; the students asked genuine and pertinent questions of this "lifetime" Viking.

 

Lance wore his sports jacket (swimming), and my friends stated that this one article of clothing enhanced Lance's connection with the students and went over quite, quite well.

 

My good friend stated that Lance ignored his agents and accommodated the requests of her students by going to her class. This one teacher had kept some papers and the seating chart of that year as well as a project that Lance had created. I was amazed when this was shared with me, for it has been a great while since lance was a student at this particular high school.

 

Although I never had this bright and talented guy as a student-- somehow we had a conversation in which I supposedly had given him some salient advice, for he asked my friend about me. To this day I still wonder what advice I'd given to him because in my particular teaching environment, I was not overtly "OUT."

I got wind of the photos via a friend who mailed the yahoo site to me. Unfortunately I was unable to access because I'd forgotten my yahoo pw and address. That, for me, is for the better because I am NOT particularly interested in seeing this young man in the nude. If I'd wanted that, I would have done it long ago when I had opportunities to substitute or do in lieu periods in physical education but refused and still refuse as of this day!

 

I want to remember Dustin Lance Black for his mind and talent. <He donated $1000 to the school's Straight and Gay Alliance Club (to be) from what the Director of Activities revealed to me last week at a retirement party. She also stated that the principal in not too keen on having this sort of club on campus (this homophobe who I have never liked and did have some run ins while a department chair and teacher.)

I despise Perez Hilton. Funny most people know Dustin Lance Black as an Oscar winning screenwriter who gave an eloquent defense of gay marriage at the Oscars and thanks to the like of Perez (and a bitter -ex) is now a subject of ridicule. And to think Perez was out there as the voice of Proposition 8 for a while. He's reverted back to form; maybe those like The Advocate who thought he had "grown up" realize he's done no such thing and is more damaging to the gay community if it means a buck in his pocket than ever before. The was no reason to release these pics other than it meant he could stamp his logo on them and drive traffic to his page.

ET, Nicely said... Not sure what Perez was thinking when he posted those sexually explicit pictures of Dustin Lance Black but, like you, I'll never forget that emotional acceptance speech he gave at the Oscars. It's worth taking a 2nd look and maybe something Perez should revisit....

And he was at the Oscars because, after years of effort, he brought the film MILK to the big screen. We were almost universally in favor of that, but now his reward is to have his private life subject to scrutiny because of people who cannot respect that privacy. Had he not been involved in MILK, no one would even be interested in these pictures.
