I spent nearly a year in Seattle back in the sixties and my recollection is that it only rained once ---- from October to mid-May.:D

Haaaaaa! Haaaaa! HAaaaa! So funny!

Ya... Seattle gets the crappiest weather~ Winters mostly.

We had a fricking nasty winter here in Portland. My yard, (previously a tropical paradise of palms, mandrine oranges, kumquats, eucalyptus, dracaena, bottle brush, four kinds of bananas), is now a scrap land of wood to build furnature with~ My Eucs are gone. the oranges were very dead looking so, I cut off all the branches and now new growth is sprouting from the lone trunks. Draceanas are history~ (Twenty foot tall trees!!! HOLY FUCK!!!!). The bottle brushes and my olive are gone, ( ten feet tall~), One of my bananas is sprouting new growth from the bottom but won't be the ten foot stand I usually have.

Two of the other bananas look daed but I remain hopeful.

Two days ago my thirty foot willow tree decided to just slowly fall over and rest on my clove and loquat tree. So, I cut the fucker down and yesterday had to cut the whole mess up since the downed tree was taking up a good part of my back yard~

Catkins everywhere and my yard looks like a giant cotton ball~!

So, I still have pommagranites and guavas growing~ Go figure~

The fruit trees seemed to have liked the month long drop of three feet of snow we had in January and Feb. I'll have lots of almonds this year. Cherries too but My peach trees and nectarines look like crap and mostly dead branches.

Mother nature is slacking as my yard keeper. I'm firing the bitch today and gonna build a giant dome over my yard.

Hope things get better in NYC~ It's not just the rain you guys get there but the added loveliness of huuuumidity~ I'm hoping that Lucky, (?) coming up from SOCAL heads over to NYC instead of SF and takes the dry weather there. He can stop up in Portland Oregon on his way back in November/December and take all of this strange freak snow and drop it of in SF where they need the water.

Anyone visiting NYC this weekend? If so, there are a lot of wonderful things to do indoors. Save the visits to the Empire State Building or The Top of the Rock for the next sunny/clear day.

Also, not a good day for a photo op, so, I doubt if you'll be seeing Air Force 1 doing any low fly-overs the NYC area... Now that caused a lot of controversy and chaos.

To all my fellow New Yorkers, Tomorrow has arrived. AMEN!

Also some good news for tourists, soon you'll be able to climb to the crown of the Statue of Liberty. It's been closed ever since 9/11.

If you see a dove that means the rains will be subsiding! The top of the torch is where you will actually want to look for the bird. It;s a nice place to pirch. that's why she is holding it~ (Leave it to the French to be so ingenious).
