Escorts headed to Minneapolis be on the lookout for (a) guy who makes appointments under various names and always cancels & (b) dude who doesn't leave the proper amount.

The latter has only happened to me twice...the second time being today. That means fuck being nice--I'm counting while client is in the room from now on.

Working guys feel free to email me for details.

You should always count the money in front of the client. I do it twice. There is no other service in the world that blindly accepts cash hoping the correct amount was given. I like guys who bring hundred dollar bills. Makes it easier.

As well, it's a formality I'd rather get out of the way. Otherwise, you have to do it at the end...I prefer to just say goodbye with a hug or a kiss. =)

That's really disturbing what the client is doing...if I head over that way I'll definitely want the information. Thanks for the general alert.

I'm one of those guys that likes to pay with hundred dollar bills. But, just a word of warning to look out for counterfeit bills.

Went to the credit union before my last hire to get the "Benjamins" and quickly held each one up to the light to verify the watermark. Imagine their surprise when I showed them that one of the bills was actually a five dollar bill that had been chemically "washed" then reprinted as a hundred.

There are some very cleaver fakes going around. I only trust a bill when I can see the correct water mark.

I've never had an escort count the money in front of me yet, and I'm not sure what I'd say if and when it happens. Is this the typical protocol??

Well, most other services just send me a bill. As much as I'm trying to be empathetic to those escorts that have been burned, I think I might be offended. OK, maybe not offended, but certainly surprised, and probably disappointed.

John,

Sorry you had this problem.

As a client, I always fan out the bills on the night stand so that the amount can be seen without picking the money up and counting it. I have yet to have a provider go for the money before the experience, maybe this is why.

Not sure how I would feel if the money was checked before hand, but probably would feel like the provider thought I was a cheat and that would bother me.

Just my two cents........

John,

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences in Minneapolis. I visit the Twin Cities on a regular basis and I've only had positive encounters so far.

I've been cheated just once by this gentleman who handled me a sealed envelope and the cash amount inside was half of the fee due. I chalked it up to experience and moved on.

I NEVER count the money in front of my client and I'm not intending to do so in the future. Why the "good guys" have to suffer because of one single incident? Also being in this industry for many years it's very improbable that a customer will pay an escort with counterfeit bills. That sounds more like an urban legend to me.

Howdy,

Thanks for input.

I managed to cut 'cancel guy' off before he could schedule with some detective work & caller ID. He is one of those online stalkers who never follows through, but emails the hell out of you. He began making up names & stalking me back when I had a Lycos address.

'Short-change' is a chalk up. I'd never count or accept dough upfront.

But I may, in certain cases, do a 'door block & count(incalls) or a wait and count before exiting'(outcalls) in the future.

I am floored by the amount of time & effort guys spend playing games and bullshitting male companions both online & on the phone.

Around my house I'm reminded constantly how people can see me & read about me, but I don't have that same advantage with them.

Who knows what kind of chemistry goes on in their skulls...beats the fuck out of me!

It's a never-ending, learning experience in the psychology of the mind.

John--I usually ask the escort to count the money while I am there. I have occasionally inadvertently miscounted--so this way I feel like they realize that if I haven't left enough it was an accident--as why would I ask them to count in front of me if I were intent on cheating them.

It's quite possible that the client may have no idea that a bill is counterfeit.

I recently had a late night out-call that was a bit over $400. The guy gave me hundreds and I didn't think anything of it. After I left his hotel I noticed how crisp the paper was, that it was the old style currency, and there were no strips in the paper. I did a little research and apparently that style was prior to the embedding of the strip. Was still a little nervous so tried to get rid of them the next day...and had no problems so was happy. I figure he was a foreigner that simply had fairly uncirculated old cash.

I've never had an escort count the money in front of me yet, and I'm not sure what I'd say if and when it happens. Is this the typical protocol??

Sorry, "in front of" is more of a motion I do as I walk to put the money away. But it's still done before and not after. The cash part is usually not the best part...and not how I like to end.

Honestly, I wish it were more practical to simply accept credit card payment when booking the appointment...so there would be no mention of cash while in person. Especially with regulars.

But I may, in certain cases, do a 'door block & count(incalls) or a wait and count before exiting'(outcalls) in the future.

It may sound horrible...but, it's really all in your implementation. If you do it naturally and don't make a big deal about it...things flow and it's cool. I've only had one person upset that I took cash up front...and the whole session continued with them constantly trying to "playfully attack me to put me off".

...I usually ask the escort to count the money while I am there. I have occasionally inadvertently miscounted--so this way I feel like they realize that if I haven't left enough it was an accident...

Kudos to you. This is really great...you respect your escort and understand their side of the equation. Occassionally people do miscount...it's nice to see that you're aware of this possibility. When there is a mistake, it's easy to fix right there and move on.

In one instance I was on tour with a transsexual escort friend of mine...I was shorted significantly from a regular I saw in the city we were in. The money he handed me just didn't seem to be enough but I didn't count it because I couldn't imagine he would have shorted me. He was unresponsive when I tried to contact him once I left and noticed the mistake. My friend wouldn't let me leave...when I really wanted to just write it off as a lesson learned. Eventually, he finally did respond and gave me the rest (but was still short by a few dollars--aside from the fact I let the time go over). He basically ruined my trust in him...and I may never see him again. I'll have to see how I feel next time I'm in town.

Sorry to hear this happened too.

When I give an envelope to an hourly escort, I always give it unsealed,

usually in an ATM envelope.

When I have money to give a travelling escort (which can be a lot of

$100's), I make sure we settle and verify and I count the bills in front

of him and then put them into an envelope and give to the escort.

There are enough scams out there and even though I'm a client, I think

it's good you brought these to everyone's attention.

Lookin4hotties

PS - If you are concerned about counterfeiting, you can buy a cheap,

battery powered blacklight. If they're genuine, the security strip in US

currency will glow. A $5 bill glows blue, $10 bill glows orange, $20 bill

glows green, $50 bill glows yellow, and the $100 bill glows red. That

and the usual signs like feel of the paper, watermark, red and blue

fibers, security thread, etc, will eliminate most counterfeit US bills

less than 12 years old. As long as money is real enough for my

bank teller, that's good enough for me.

Do I understand you correctly? You collect the money up front, count it, put it away, then proceed? Frankly, that would totally burst my balloon. In fact, it wouldn’t even get that far. The conventional wisdom around here is to never pay up front. And that's always been my practice.

I do have to AGREE with TNT.."Before the Fact" has always been a Big Buzz Kill for me. It's ony happened Twice to me and a long time ago. ;)

IF a Working Guy "Advertised" Finances Up Front, I'm sure his Biz would definitely be slower than this Economy is now making it.

It strikes me as bad form to count cash in front of the client. Many wouldn't mind, but as pointed out here some may find that off-putting. The last thing I want to do is taint a pleasurable experience for him by suggesting that to me this was merely a mercantile transaction. One can, however, count the cash immediately once out of eyesight. If you suspect that things might not be right, you can even ask to use the bathroom after being paid and do a quick look-see in there.

As for the no-shows and other stiffs, yes, that does suck. But every business expects to lose a certain percentage of its take to bad accounts, inventory slippage, whatever. Ours is no different. We fight it where we can but build that eventuality into our prices nevertheless.

Etiquette two ways

I have been hiring for years and have my own etiquette.

1) I always verify the rate "for time only" purposes on the phone just so there is no misunderstanding on either side.

2) I now listen to my gut about up front payment. I was right both times when payment was asked/demanded up front and then the session either didn't happen or went way short with no intention of fulfillment on his part. The other times I either knew the escort or it just felt OK. But over the years, the payment after has sort of become the standard and I would like to keep it that way.

3) If I can get 100's I like to pay that way and I like to put the money on the table or countertop so the escort can look as he gathers it up. Even with twenties I put them in piles of five and lay them out so it is easy to see at a glance. For me it allows us to say good by without the finances being in front of us but still lets the fellow know the fee is right.

Any other tips?

It is easier to count Fifties and Hundreds at a glance. Some guys ask me to count while I am there. I do not always do this, I have a pretty good sense of what 15 Twenties feels like in my hand. I have only been wrong once, and I was not inclined to go back to that client.

The Biggest Thanks Possible

Let me say how impressed I am with the discussion going on here. It gives me a major hard-on when men share information and tips about anything in the male companionship field that genuinely teaches & improves communication between a companion & a client.

I love it! Discussions rather than backbiting & bitch battles. I'm sure lurkers to this site have gained some knowledge & insight.

And that's what I'm all about...better biz communication among scorts & those who love them, not loathe them<g>

Good work, boys!!

The very first escort I ever hired 6 yrs ago was a "pay in advance" deal. He was with Nationwide Escorts. Ever hear of them? lol Two weeks later I found Hooboys site and have been learning how to "better communicate my wants" ever since. I have also tried the leave the "money in plain view" method before. The guy waited until I was on the bed and he grabbed the money and bolted. Now I have the policy of keeping his fee in my shirt pocket. I will show him that I have it when he arrives, if he wants, but it goes back into the pocket until our session is over. I tell him this in advance if he brings up prepayement.

I also use large bills, but keep a couple of twenties with it for tips, or to pay for gas or cab if he isn't what his pics look like and I ask him to leave early. When our session is over, I usually slip his fee into his pocket with a goodbye kiss and ask him if he wants to use the restroom before he leaves. He can then check the amount with discretion before he leaves the room.

I had no one who counted money in front of me except one escort who just wanted to see whether I had money and asked up front. I guess a lot escorts go through this a lot and I feel sorry for them but I hope all clients are not like that.

I do the same, or I count it in front of them to make sure, especially when ATM twenties are involved - I can never be too sure. Sometimes, in inebriation, I have been known to call/text asking if the fee I gave them was complete.

  • 4 weeks later...

I prefer that the money be counted privately otherwise it seems like I'm trying to cheat them. Having said that, I did make an honest mistake and shorted someone 60 bucks. He sent me a pleasant 'I'm sure you made a mistake' email and I offered to send him the money. He told me to catch him next time which I did a few weeks later and made up the difference and a $100 tip for being so considerate.
