Any tips on how to get rid of this thing? I've tried several products to no avail.

 

Been looking for answer for several days. I've found no definitive way to do it with out a full reload of the operating system from the distribution.

 

I suggest getting an external disk to move your valuable data files off to. Don't attempt to save any of the applications 'cause you'll want to reload them from their distributions.

 

Wish I had a better answer but this one appears to be a bear to deal with.

did you try the guidance on wikipedia for removing virtumonde manually? It list a bunch of files and registry entries to delete. Looking at the list, it may be easier to rebuild as Daddy advises.
