Finding A Photographer

Hello,

 

Would someone advise me in the proper direction toward finding/choosing a professional photographer in Atlanta who takes quality adult photos?

 

Any tips? Questions to ask?

That's one of the few remaining things I find Craigslist good for. I've had good luck putting posts on men seeking men. Attach one of the very hot pics you're currently using, be very clear about what you're looking for, and ask to see a sample of his work before setting anything up to make sure you like his style. Something like "well hung escort looking for free professional photo session..." usually gets good results; you do not need to trade sex if you do not wish to. I've always had good luck finding someone who was into it just for the fun or who needed to try out some new photographic equipment or had some other reason to be happy to spend a few hours in a free photo session.

I was thinking about the same thing. I normally shoot new pics once a year around September. I'd like to get a good photographer the next time. I'm trying to find someone not to expensive.

I appreciate the kind input both here and via email. My '08 photos celebrated one year last week and I'm way behind on replenishing so I gotta get my ass in gear before summer.

 

Wanted to gather info since I may be losing the only photographer I've ever had. Guys who know me understand how much I truly detest cameras & posing.

I hate taking pics too. I shoot all of mine myself. camera and a tripod. I use to shoot new ones every 3 months but that got old quick

Someone who is charging you to sit for photos is not a photographer with a vision, you are not a puppy or a two year old, you are a professional who's time/looks are a valuable thing.

Someone who is charging you to sit for photos is not a photographer with a vision, you are not a puppy or a two year old, you are a professional who's time/looks are a valuable thing.

 

Actually... having modeled and also being a photographer, my experience has been that if you go to a photographer who intends to publish your images in MEN or PlayGirl or something, you will get a check but only if the images are purchased by the publication for print there. Otherwise you just get a CD of SOME of the prints, (at the discretion of the photographer as to which ones generally).

LOTS of photographers charge or their service to promote you and their time to 1). take the images, 2). process them. 3). store them, burn them, print them for you.

Asking a photographer to take quality, professional images of you and put the package together to promote you for free is really unreasonable. The photographer's ability to prosper off a few of your images is less likely then the business you will get by using his images of you on various sites to promote yourself. He may sell your images once to a publication and then THEY OWN the images. He might get an image that he can display in a gallery and then maybe someone might buy it. So where he gets limited sales and profit from any images he might take of you. You get more sales bacause of it. You see him once for a few hours and he spends days getting things together for you on top of the shoot. Make sense?

I hear what you are saying Tyger, and I think you are one hundred percent right. I have not had the same experience, but my experience is limited. I know most of the photographers who have taken photos for me and some others have contacted me through my rentboy ad.
