I recall watching a show on TV and a group of comedy writers kept changing the punchline of a joke to try and find the number in the punchline which was the funniest.

 

119 is certainly odd and peculiar but not particularly funny. It is clear I have way too much time on my hands. Take care.

Non-divisable-by-$10 rates ....

 

When one goes to buy gasoline, the rates quoted are always a tenth of penny below

some integer number.

 

A reasonable guess as to why this is done , would be that makes the price *seem* less.

 

Here the escorted quoted two rates -> one for $150 (minus one dollar) and

one for $120 (minus one dollar).

 

The 150 rate is a nice round number; less 20% also doesn't seem that odd.

 

Less one dollar on the same theory as pay-at-the-pump also seems not radical ...

 

(Don't mind me, I'm just playing *straight man* ;-) )
