Hi. Everyone seems to agree that Roberto (among others) in Buenos Aires is a great tour guide. However, I have searched the posts and haven't found one that lists how to contact him. I am probably overlooking it. Does anyone have any info to contact him? Thanks.

Thanks guys for the info. I know I will have more questions as I go along.

Two thumbs up from me for Roberto! There are others, but he is the best.

Roberto!!

Roberto is the greatest. I consider him more a friend than anything. He is very knowledgeable about the city, art, culture and history. He is a decent and kind person who is always nice to spend time with. If you want a guide in BAires I would recommend none other. He will assist you (within reason) to connect with escorts if you need that too.

I've used the services and the expertise of three Portenos, including Roberto, and I have indeed been quite pleased with what they rendered.

It is great that now none of us are at a loss in engaging the services of a reputable guide while holidaying in "The Paris of the South!"

To the man who began this thread-- do ask us questions, many! I am always happy to lend my ideas regarding my second favorite city along with information pertaining to my first favorite: Rio de janeiro! (I'm not an authority but have enhanced the enjoyment of trips of others by helping them with their needs!)

Question No. 1

To the man who began this thread-- do ask us questions, many! Axiom, watch out what you ask for! : ) Question No. 1: I hope to be visiting BA anywhere from 8 to 10 days. Would you recommend a hotel or a short term apartment rental? If you recommend a rental, how would you recommend finding a place?

I am sure this will be the first of many thank yous. P.S. Axiom, I have travelled to Brazil several times and I made it a point to read your very helpful posts whenever I planned a trip.

For your first visit, I think I'd recommend staying in a hotel. I've stayed in two: Howard Johnson Da Vinci and 725 Continental. For its ambience and superb buffet breakfast, I'd recommend the latter. I did not have company there, but another writer mentioned that this has not been a problem for him when he stayed in BA hotels.

At the HJ Da Vinci, I did not have any problems with my having guests, and I liked the comfortability but abhorred the breakfast-- the worst during my South American travels.

-------Apartment living is great; I've stayed in a one bedroom as well as a two bedroom apartment, but since you do not know Espanol, I would stay in a hotel on my first visit to get some services of which you might be in need which is far morre difficult while staying in an apartment.

Check out http://www.gaytravelargentina.com; I think there is a thread pertaining to your query.

For additional information regarding travel in Buenos Aires-- check out http://www.TheGayGuide.com.ar. The material that is presented here is indeed great. Its webmaster was a guide for me after Roberto left for his vacation in NYC in 2005 or 2006. I think this man no longer serves as a guide, but Roberto would know!

Roberto

I just had lunch with Roberto two days ago, as always it is a pleasure to spend time with a true gentleman.

You do not have to stay in Buenos Aires for months on end and spend god knows how much money with him to get top notch help. And as much as a few here pitch Marcello, he is only after your money...and of course will treat you well for it (especially if you hire him for months on end), then later gossip about you to other clients....and show disgust about your interest in the escorts with the "big dicks" even though he collaborated with you when you were paying him for his services.

In the case of Roberto, you will find a helpful and honest person who will look out for you. He is quite well educated, has been around much longer than most anyone else, and is absolutely not two faced. He is not some cute twink who trys to convince you to eat where he suggests, or do what he wants, he is the real deal and he is happy to help YOU not him. Of course he charges a fee for his time, but I would encorage anyone to contact him via e-mail and ask him about his services....

Meanwhile if anyone knows any boys in Ushuaia...I am here for another week before heading back north....:) :)

hugs,

Orbit
