Setting availability on rentboy via the phone

This may not be new, but I just discovered it. Rentboy now lets us set our availability over the phone. I just tried it and it worked well. Cool that we don't have to run to a computer between the gym and dinner, for example.

 

They also mention getting your rentboy emails via sms to your cell phone, but no mention of how to set that up. I'll try that out as well once they tell me how.

 

I guess neither of these features would be that exciting for those with web-enabled phones. And neither feature works on the cheap ads, only gold or above.

The voice response system is a bit touchy though. Any background noise is picked up and interpreted as a response with unexpected results.

I read recently in the Deli that a certain escort may be undesirable because his ad is always "available", how is that? We have to log in periodically to update our availability, but who keeps track of how much of our time we make available?

A while back, there was a forum discussion about guys who are seemingly always online. Many posters shared the sentiment that a guy who appeared to be always online was somehow less desirable and less reliable than one who was not. I don't recall that a judgment was levied on clients who spend so much time looking at rentboy ads that they would know whether an escort is "always" available. If memory serves, many also felt that it didn't matter and was probably some glitch in rentboy. I tried locating the post, but the number of search results is staggering and I have the attention span of a gnat who has ADD.

 

My personal opinion is that it doesn't matter. I just assume that the escort is simply on the same time schedule that I am.
