Best coverage of this trial. I've been reading at the end of the day for the past 3 or 4 days.

I was just about to post this same link. Viewing the news video links provide stark contrast in Cuadra and Kerkes' appearances. Looks like Harlow lost a tremendous amount of weight and Joe has ballooned up a bit.

The verdict should not come as a surprise though it will be interesting to see if he gets the death penalty.

Interesting reading that 3 or 4 of Caudra's former clients were called as witnesses and all stated they had been instructed by him on his "alibi" story. Sad they said on the witness stand that they "were in love" (but didn't falsely do the alibi thing) and contributed what they could to his defense, from 50 bucks to like 50,000.

I can't imagine the jury would give Caudra a harsher penalty than Kerekes. Should be a lesson to guys who seem to love having their pic taken flipping the middle finger to the camera, as Caudra did. Can't believe three people - Kerekes, Caudra, and Brent Corrigan could spend 3,000 on a dinner in Vegas, I don't care if it is Bellagio. Really living in fantasy land.

I spent a good deal of time watching interviews with Caudra on The Advocate's web page last night. As screwed up as he may have been as a youth (and he wasn't that screwed up) his life didn't seem to be on the wrong track until he met Kerekes. I agree with his mother when she shouted out in court at Kerekes that "you took my son's life". There's reportedly taped jail conversations with that Kerekes talking about how he's going to profit from the story of the actual murder!

Equally good site; there are others, but sometimes distracting cuz the posters have their favorite friend or porn star. but i enjoyed the comments.

Harlow's story wasn't credible at the trial, he said Joe flew into a jealous rage because he was going to do a porn shoot), and that harlow hid in the suv while the deed was done; the next day, per witnesses, Harlow called falcon talking about he had a "high profit" porn star on board; he pretty immediately called brent corrigan that same next day and directed him to a website showing Kerrekes' house on fire with the body inside.

the blogs are good reading, a lot doesn't make sense, and i think everyone lied. duh!

there were 4 people at the dinner in vegas, still over the top. and harlow and joe were broke at the time of the dinner, or almost, but going down.

the video interviews were quite good, again not true; overall, a look at a seamy side of life with awful people.

I don't doubt that both of them are guilty. But there's also no reason to believe Harlow wasn't sexually abused for 10 years by his stepfather as was alleged at least in the penalty phase. I'd say that's a pretty screwed up childhood.

On the other hand - is there any reason *to believe it? It's not a stretch to think he'd say anything to lessen his own culpability under these circumstances.

Harlow lays all the blame elsewhere - on his stepfather for abusing him, on Joe for seducing him into the life and for killing Kocis. And it may all be true. But we're not likely to ever know. (And I confess, that makes me sad - not knowing if he is victim or full-partner in the crime.)

Tragic all the way around.

We'll probably never know who physically committed the murder, although a joint venture certainly is possible. Not that anyone should care, but my gut tells me it was Kerekes.
