Recently I indulged myself and bought a new leather hood. It laces up from the back or the neck for a snug fit. There are openings for the mouth, nose and eyes. But a zipper allows the entire face to be covered.

 

As much fun to wear as have others wear!

Raul… it sounds as though you are acquiring quite an array of toys! It is always fun to indulge oneself with a new plaything.

 

Still, we all have our limits and surprisingly for me a hood is one of them as it somehow offers an overabundance of constraint and especially in the zippered up mode where inhalation would be restricted... It is a gratifying to be made to feel helpless and not in control, but when the nose and mouth are covered and one is gasping for a breath of air that crosses the line for me… but then again for others that could elicit the ultimate in gratification… Consequently, in spite of the fact that the scent of a leather hood made from quality rawhide can be quite a "turn on", I always list that as one of the places I would rather not investigate… but then again there are so many other contraptions and other avenues to explore so to each his own.

The neat thing about the hood is it works worn by either the submissive or dominant and even when those labels don't fit.

If I were playing with you I'd either not use the hood or wear it myself. I think It might look good on me with a flogger in hand.

 

Recently had the pleasure of using it in two very different scenes. One was the client wearing it and the other was me wearing it while I topped the client. One interesting characteristic of a zipped-up hood makes it analogous to being blindfolded… and the deprivation of sight certainly adds a certain sense of anticipation and excitement. Regrettably I have been in situations while hooded and blindfolded where the top has proved to be unreliable and decided to cross the line into insanity… sure the “pain” felt “good” then, but the consequences thereafter were not something that one should have had to contend with. That’s were trust and chemistry most definitely enter into the equation… and a further reason for my somewhat adverse reaction to the hood scenario…

 

To your credit Raul… from your postings here you seem to fall into the responsible category… and that’s a good thing. It is important to know with whom you are playing so as to develop the confidence that would allow one simply to relax and enjoy the ride. In addition, one must always remember that it is the bottom who really should be calling the shots… again you seem to subscribe to that concept as well.

The cool thing about the zipper is that it is a two way zipper so I can zip the top half so the wearer can't see but his mouth is still exposed or cover the mouth but not eyes.

 

About safety, better to push limits slowly and be able to play another day and hopefully eager and inspired to push ones limits through whatever combination of increased endurance, trust, communication, creativity and maybe a new toy or two.

Raul, you definitely have the correct philosophy on this. Limits are to be expanded, but gradually, always probing to see how far you can go, but never really far beyond what has been discussed. And, after all, certain firm limits should not be crossed if the bottom has been clear about them. It is really a matter of degree, not quantum jumps...

Speaking of Quantum - For years I've had a recurring fantasy

So Raul will be in NYC this week and I managed to get an appointment. Giving that hood and other toys a workout! I still haven't decided if I want him to wear the hood or I want to wear the hood.
