Brazil is a huge country, larger than the lower-48 U.S. states. It's divided into 25 (or maybe 26?) states. When you research Brazilian sites for travel information, you may find that the listings are by state, and not by city. To figure out what state a city is located in, you'll need a good map. This is a pretty good one, showing the states, the regions into which Brazil is officially divided, major cities and time zones.
