Uruguay: Montevideo and Punta del Este May 03 update

 

A) Escorts:

 

1. Web site with adds: http://www.lospioneros.com (the english version link does not work)

2. Adds in the newspaper "El Pais" (only on Sunday edicion). Find the Avisos Clasificados (in the Internet edition http://www.diarioelpais.com, it is called Clasificados). Then go to "Servicios" and then to "Mensajes Especiales". You will find several adds of escorts in Montevideo (only spanish).

 

B) Street Hustlers (ayor)

 

1. Montevideo: Avda 18 de Julio (main downtown street) in the 6 or 7 blocks going from calle Ejido to the Plaza de los Treinta y Tres. Lots of hustlers after 8 pm till late in the night (2 pm on Fridays or Saturdays).

2. Montevideo: Parque de los Aliados. This is a big Park centrally located at the end of Avda 18 de Julio in it's eastern side. Typical area for tvs and men. Take care, it is risky!!

3. Maldonado (next to Punta del Este): All the downtown area of Maldonado is a very good place to pick up hustlers. It is quite safe and there are lots of young (18 to 23) and nice boys willing to go out for a few dollars (10 to 15).

4. Punta del Este: Only during high season (January and February) in the downtown Rambla Costanera (that's the sea sidestreets in downtown Punta del Este) and in the Avenida Gorlero (downtown Punta main street) all along this street but mainly between calles 31 and 25.

 

C) Gay Bars and Discos

 

1. Montevideo:

a) Espejismos at Jackson 872 and Lauro Muller (Parque Rodo). Gay men crowd, strippers and gogo boys

b) Cain at Cerro Largo 1833 and Arenal Grande. Mixed gay (men and women), strippers and go go boys.

c) other non checked places at http://equis.ya.com/uruguaygay.

d) Milenio at 25 de Mayo and Ciudadela in the old city of Montevideo. This is a mixed "fashion club" (gay and non gay) in a very trendy area of Montevideo.

 

2. Punta del Este:

a) Mercury at Avda Gorlero and calle 31. Only for gay men. Many hustlers, easy to find someone to take to your room.

b) Mobydick at the downtown Rambla (seaside street) just opposite to the Punta del Este Yacht Club. Mixed crowd (gay and non gay) but very easy to make contact with other gay young men. Lots of tourist and most of the boys from Maldonado go there after 1 am. It opens every Friday and Saturday (high and low season) and it is always full. A nice place to go.

 

D) Moteles or Albergues (hotels by the hour).

 

In Uruguay there are many hotels by the hour that are usually very nice and safe places to go with escorts (or hustlers). The cost is normally around U$S 10 for the first hour and a half, and U$S 25 to 30 for an overnight. Normally these moteles are very well equipped with air conditioning, frigobar and good bathrooms.

 

1. Montevideo

 

Not all the moteles allow two men to enter their facilities. I have checked (and went to) these ones:

 

a) Motel Bella Vista: you can go with a car or a taxi

b) Motel Ajedrez: by car or taxi

c) Motel Goes: by car or taxi

d) Motel El Recuerdo: no car entrance

 

2. Punta del Este

 

Posada de la Luna: It is a very nice motel located in Avda San Pablo and Camino al Placer in the Jaguel area, next to the Golf Club of Punta del Este. Usually the boys in Punta know how to get there. Prices are a little bit higher than the Montevideo's moteles during high season, and lower in mid and low season.
