Originally I wanted to be in Montreal this past weekend. Sadly, I was unable to make that happen. Someday Greyhound will deliver me to this wonderland of fun and beauty.

Instead, I was able to do an overnight quickie in NYC. I had some metropolitan-level shopping that needed to be done. As I walked passed what was the Gaiety I looked behind the boards that are surrounding the area. The Gaiety door was open. I had flashbacks. I had a heat flash. To see the door open was a little startling. In the past, seeing the door open was always a trigger of erotica soon to be. Now it was like visiting a grave of a loved one. And then I walked passed what was Stella’s. It is now painted a vulgar yellow. It is some Irish pub and grill. I looked in, lowered my head, and left. What has happened? What is going on? Why? And no … I wasn’t even going to go to LeFluer’s or RED as I was running low on memorial wreaths.

I was determined not to be a prisoner of “what was”. I wasn’t going to allow the Sound of Music terrorism tactics of Mayor Puritan Mary and Disney’s modified porn for the whole family (Tarzan the musical?!? PLEASE!!) to make me go back to the Super-8 and read a Bible. I know there was a new puzzle here that I had to put together.

I called message center Jaynnj and we met at Splash Bar NY. I knew this Saturday Man Show was something to see as Cooper’s reports made it sound very enticing. Indeed it was this past Saturday night! Everyone was in a tizzy as Tony Micelli (aka Vito of Gaiety fame) was making a star appearance. He was with his porn partner as well. While waiting for the show we enjoyed delightful bartenders and great company. I met a fellow from Bangkok on a business trip to NYC. After he described a few bars and scenes there I now know why it is called Bangkok. And I also met another interesting fellow who also has a love of everything Gaiety. He has collected almost every Gaiety print ad and, with him that night, he had a portfolio with some wonderful pictures of one particular SBNY employee. Via email we plan to exchange our mutual Gaiety goods and I will share those fruits. He was also there to see Tony as he is a big fan. He is such a fan that he actually made a Tony Micelli fan which Tony autographed for him.

Well, Tony took the stage and it was a feeding frenzy! AND I did not know picture taking was allowed! I remember when Tony was very hush hush about his adult world activities. Now, it is VERY out there. I was sitting at the bar in the back so these are the best pictures I was able to grab with my cell.

I know these are low quality. But I took many and these were the best. I was just surprised they allowed pictures.

The night ended with Tony downstairs and everyone getting things signed and their pictures taken with him and the other porn dude. I also had an enjoyable time chatting with a Club 20 dancer.

So yes, SBNY was indeed fun. The male dancers were awesome and the one HUGE fellow (Slayer or Striker … not sure of his name) showed more than what he was planning on showing. At my distance I couldn’t tell if it was cock or cock illusion. Either way, the crowd went crazy. I also realized it is so hard to keep up with young gay culture. They love their foam and they love their Internet. All over SBNY were posters advertising http://www.manhunt.net . There is one less poster in one of the stalls downstairs as I didn’t have a pen and I needed to remember it. Yes, I can go from 0 to white trash in 30 seconds. I share this site with you but I haven’t even gone to it yet. T-shirts, posters, little towels .. this website was all over the place. The Micelli/manhunt connection was obvious.

So, it was now midnight and I wasn’t ready to retire just yet. I became insulted when I was asked NOT to stand in the front of SBNY on my cell phone. Is that a policy? I reactivated my field reporter status, hopped in a cab, and went to The Boys Room. Goodness gracious am I glad I did! The city that scorned me when they took away all of my little happy places just redeemed itself.

There is much I can share. I won’t. To this day I feel responsible for the closing of RED. I am Molly Brown. I joke! I will share what I feel is appropriate. I do need to share this one observation.. GO THERE!

Since I am VERY unfamiliar with this part of the city I just gave the cab driver the address and we were on our way. There was no marquee. There was a simple little sidewalk sign and written in chalk was, “Boys Room”. I was given a bracelet. Doorman was talking about Mr. Black’s sex parties and how they were shut down or going to be shut down. Who is Mr. Black? Is he having sex parties? Are they being shut down?

I walked in and took a quick tour. You can see the place for yourself at http://www.tripwithus.com and click on the Boys Room link. The other links are for other bars I will try someday. Once in the Boys Room section click on photos. They are also on My Space: http://www.myspace.com/AREA10018 . And here are two friendly warnings about their main site: the site will automatically resize your browser window and the song “Gay Bar” plays so don’t go to this site at your local church Internet class.

The bartender was BEYOND helpful in giving me change all night so I had money to shove down people’s underpants. He said his name three times but the music was loud and I wasn’t catching his frequency. Apparently this is all a joint venture with Mistress Formika and the very hot and talented Cazwell. He was the host last night. We had a very nice conversation and he gave me a free drink ticket. http://www.cazwell.com and http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=48486184 is where you can find out so much more about this young talent. Cazwell alluded to the fact that the Boys Room moved to this new venue recently and it is experiencing a rebirth. Their previous location was 2 blocks from where they are now. I don’t know why they moved.

The bar plays real porn videos and not the soft porn SBNY displays. They also play obscure music videos and some cult classic film snippets mixed in with some campy TV nostalgia. The music the DJ was spinning was a variety of music I haven’t heard before. It was awesome! As my AP music teacher told me in high school, “old wine in new glasses”. Some of the songs were covers and I think there were a few mash-ups. It was a combination between Japanese house – videogame - hard core techno – cell phone ring-tone style of music. I also think there was some industrial dance and mutant disco thrown in. Whatever the hell it was the music was PERFECT for this place.

Now, the Go-Go boys are something worth discussing. I found heaven last night in a boy named Filipe. He was one with his poll. And he would clean his poll with napkins from time to time. I love hot boys who pay attention to the little things. I hate to sound like Paris Hilton but he was hot. Some boys can’t pull off lip gloss. He can. He was very tactile, very friendly and, to me, everything that is sexy in the male form. A tall “almost” swimmer’s build if that makes any sense. And his face … angelic. The other Go-Go boys (5 others last night) were all delightful as well. One had ripped undies. I doubt the rip was an accident. ;) And a very friendly patron “D” shared with me that on Monday nights there are 10 to 20 Go-Go boys and most Latino! Cover is only $5. If you go to the website you will see that they have something wonderful EVERY night and you can’t find drink prices like these at too many bars anymore. I tried to take pictures of Filipe but they didn’t appear! If he is a vampire then … well, insert your own vampire erotic reference here about sucking, etc.

Thanks to the super friendly staff and to “D”. You were great company and thanks for all the wonderful information you shared with me. It was a pleasure sharing Filipe with you. More than one person this night told me the East Village is very “laid back”. Things don’t start until after midnight at this location and the smell of weed outside is something you will encounter. A passport is not needed but I loved this different world that I never experienced before. I didn’t stay for the amateur strip contest but I am sure Cazwell hosted it with style and flare.

And why the change in font color as I close out this post? I found out some VERY interesting info from “D”. Apparently, on Wednesday nights, you can see many of the Stella boys at Lucho’s Club! http://www.newyorkmetro.com/listings/bar/kyqz/ and http://www.magictouchnyc.com/wednesday.htm . Can anyone confirm or deny this? Also Tommy G of Magic Touch Productions has some of the Stella’s Boys at the Boys Room on Mondays for the Go-Go army. Go to this lick for Magic Touch http://www.magictouchnyc.com/Welcome.shtm and this link http://www.magictouchnyc.com/Links.htm for Yahoo Groups galore about LeFleurs II, etc. Magic Touch seems to have a lot going on.

VDN, Sorry you weren't able to join the posse in MTL, but I'm happy to see you kept yourself very busy. Thanks for the excellent report and recognizing that it's time to move on. NY has many fine clubs still up and running.

Hi, VDN!

I think "This one" refers to "boy shopping spree," not the hot guy in Taz' message. :)

...Hoover

p.s. Sorry I missed meeting you last weekend when I made my first trip to NYC in 31 years.

Hey VDN,

Thanks for your great on the spot reporting! Good to know that there are still good places to "shop" in NYC. :p

Yes, most of us M4M'ers were in MTL, but like Taz says, your shopping spree would have been worth flying back for (well, almost :-) ).

BTW, the underwear model in Taz's sig line is our barwaiter "Ace" at The 20 Club.

enjoy

I am your private dick when it comes to uncovering trade. ;)

I am sure you had a blast and all of your laps are sore. Lapstick is sold here in the states I believe. ;) Will any of you give a report on your mounting of Montreal?

I think his modeling career would really improve if he took the underwear off. Just a hunch.

The shoes I wore were recommended by lesbians so I was able to traverse quickly. ;)

Ditto on that! He proves underwear can be outerwear!

Nice report VDN, and SPEAKING OF LESBIANS...

"This is why it isn't a good idea to hit on strangers on the street. Early Friday morning 28-year-old Queens native Wayne Buckle hit on a 19-year-old lesbian from Newark named Patreese Johnson in front of the old Waverly theater on Sixth Avenue. After she turned him down he allegedly spat on her which incited Johnson and a gaggle of her Jersey friends to surround, beat and stab him.

Cops quickly arrested Johnson and six of her friends a block away from the scene. The women, all apparently lesbians ranging in age from 18-31, were charged with attempted second-degree murder, gang assault and possession of a weapon. None have posted the $50,000 bail. Buckle, who the Post says is an independent filmmaker, was taken to St. Vincents hospital where he is currently in the intensive care unit.

Aside, the folks at the Daily News deserve some kind of recognition for using this story to write what is hands-down our favorite lead of the day:

A gang of petite but ornery lesbians pummeled and stabbed a DVD bootlegger in the West Village early yesterday after he tried to pick up one of the women - and then spat on her when she rebuffed his advances, police and witnesses said.

In a herd, lesbians can be evil personified. Mr. Spit was wrong but DAMN ... they were too rough on him. I hope he recovers quickly and learns how to spot a lesbian ... petite, ornery or otherwise.
