If you're looking to duplicate the Gaiety experience, you might try Stock and Campus in Montreal. I made my first visit there last month; would likely have gone to NYC instead if the Gaiety had still been open.

 

No cover at the bars in Montreal, and there is little pressure to buy drinks.

 

Lap dances in private stalls for $10 and $20 at Stock and Campus. They dance nude. At Stock, first a "fast dance" with most of his clothes on; then after another dancer, the first dancer comes back for "slow dance" with most of his clothes off.

 

Some of the Stock dancers recognized me from the Gaiety, and one of them dragged me (kicking & screaming) back to my hotel for a reasonably priced private show.

 

I also spent a few days this summer in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach sampling the wares at Cupids, Dudes, and Boardwalk. They also have lap dances.
