Corner Pocket in New Orleans

I've been in New Orleans for a few days and have spent the last 2 nights at Corner Pocket. I was last here 2 years ago during Southern Decadence. The place was much more friendly this trip especially the dancers. On Thursday they had about 15 dancers and a very mixed group I might add. A couple of muscle guys, tattooed street guys and at least half the dancers are skinny twinks. Even though there are no dark or private areas some got very friendly for the right tips. A few offered to spend time with me outside the club Friday.

 

I passed since I had an Escort date with Adian on this site (aka Triston on Rentboy). When Adian hadn't called for my hotel room an hour before he was due to arrive I called him. Ended up he had another appointment 1 hour after my scheduled time and he said he "thought we were the same guy" so he was headed to see the other guy. He offered to meet me after that guy, which would have been 9 - 10 pm or later. I passed and reminded him we had scheduled our time about 2 weeks ago. He said he knew that but got "mixed up". He never did say he was sorry but, asked for my # again to call me later to try to try to work something out. He never called.

 

Friday night at Corner Pocket they have a dancer contest. Some are regular dancers and some were just guys that walked in. There were over 20 of them and the most mixed group of dancers I have ever seen. The place was packed until after the contest and the dancers that remained were some of the better ones. Everyone in the bar seems very nice and great examples of Southern Hospitality. Patrons were very quick to strike up a conversation even though they didn't know you. After 2 nights here I've noticed there are a few "non-dancers" that work the crowd until they end up leaving with someone. Some of these guys got very publicly frisky with a few patrons in the club before finding someone to leave with. Some of these guys were very attractive and didn't seem to be street boys.

 

One dancer I became very fond of (he was really friendly and cute) is having dinner with me tonight. I expect to return tonight but can't stay long since I have an early flight tomorrow before they close things down due to the Hurricane. I figure SmallTownJohn has to be close by somewhere. Seems everytime our paths cross something like a Hurricane happens.

Made it back to Corner Pocket tonight. Very sparse crowd with about half the normal number of dancers. Several Dancers had decided to evacuate for the hurricane. They were talking about having a Hurricane Party Monday night if the club is not forced to close by the city due to the Hurricane. That might be different, depending upon whether this city floods or not.

KY, I'm glad to hear you found the Corner Pocket! I get to New Orleans about once a year and I always end up here each night. I find the dancers to be friendly and usually a mixed group leaning toward twinks. Most of the guys are local which adds a bit of flavor to the mix. I wish I had heard earlier you were going to New Orleans, a bar I like is just down the street. It is either "7th Circle" or "9th Circle" (it used to be TT's and they still have the old sign inside). The dancers there do a little more, and are very friendly as well. Hope you got out before the hurricane hit, but you seem to be able to adjust...like the time in NYC when the power went out? LOL
