Have not had much time to post lately due to real time concerns but have a great story for you guys about the last day at the Gaiety. Not sure if this is the forum, but Im sure it can be moved.

I had not really planned on going on Thursday as I had gone Monday night and thought the show was great, but once is enough for me. I have to give my take on the dancers even though its been done before, cause I wanted to stress a few of the guys :

Jaguar - ripped, ripped, ripped...not cut, but ripped !!! This guy is so ripped he needs a needle and thread !!! Very impressed with what he has done with his body and good amount of muscle, though not a bodybuilder physique. Most ripped in show, best looking in my opinion.

Nate (Atlanta) - the guy can dance but mostly to hip hop and did not get a chance to show it as he could not give the DJ his own music. Thought that was starnge since Sasha, the Lithuanian dude, got to dance to Lithuanian club beats, and I canm safely say that his music sucked dick better than any head Ive gotten !!!

Anyway, Nate's best feature is his torso, and you aint seen shit until he flexes. And not the pussy dance flexing on stage, but In the lounge shirt off I want a private flexing !!! Rock solid, cut, 8 pack. Not everyone's choice for looks but his body is incredible when flexed...relaxed is pretty good too.

Sasha - very very nice kid...talkative, personable. The dance routine was the weirdest shit I ever saw in my life !!!

Absolutely indescribable...miming piano playing like he was on an acid trip...but a really nice, innocent kind of kid. He is so tall that he almost hit his head on the ceiling while jumping around...yes, it was jumping, not dancing.

Taylor/Tyler - good dancer, nothing new to add

Johnny - this guy is a performer. I felt really bad for him on the last night as he had tears in his eyes. I have been "part" of the Gaiety scene for less than a year, but so many people are very tied to the place, and its hard for them. Johnny always seemed that a genuinely nice guy. Incredibly proportioned body, very good amount of muscle, can hit statue poses like no one Ive seen

Devin - nice guy, built, great arms, very friendly...he will do well anywhere, but the Gaiety seemed easy for him

Nick the Dick - this guy makes me laugh cause he is a young guy (19) and just says whatever comes in to his mind. I always get regalled with his sexual exploits with dumb ass New York chicks, but the stories and his telling of them are always fucken hilarious. Very big dick and he loves his dick and loves to show ya how big it is. Not much in to dicks, but am impressed by his.

Stephano (madrigals-chicago) - now here is where the real story begins. BTW, great body...looks normal and muscular but can flex and double in size...pretty cool actually

I was in the lounge and one of the customers was talkingto me on Monday...or Tuesday...cant remember. I was laughing a something this guy said and Stephano came over and joined in the conversation. It turns out he's on spring break and goes to college...also turns out that he is doing a paper on agression in children and adolescents which happens to be a specialty of mine. He said he needs references and help with the paper and I told him that I would help him and told him to call me this week.

On Thursday, when I found out the Gaiety was closing, I figured that I would go to the last show and drop off some reference books for Stephano as I figured most guys would just be going back home on Friday. Turns out that Stephano would be leaving Friday night, and asked if I could help him Friday during the day. Now I have no idea if you guys can get this from my writing, but Im the kind of guy that if you ask for help, and I can help, I will help. I give very freely of my time and do a lot of volunteer shit. I said yes, and then went home to go to bed.

Well, to make a long story short, we took most of the next day to work on this paper. It was very cool and felt good to be able to help someone, especially in an area that is of such interest to me. Half way through the day, I got this weird feeling : it that feeling you get where you think, "If my friends saw me now, they would be calling me a dick. " I was feeling strange cause I thought of the number of times when that escorts were very uncool with their time and services. It made me think about this game that we are all playing and how I have gotten to the point where privates are not really fun, when (at times) it is about having fun, but watching someone scheme to get out as soon as possible.

These thoughts went through my head, but the best part for me is that I threw all those thoughts out of my head. This kid had never done anything wrong to me and I was standing for something that I believed in : helping without asking for something in return. The escort experience almost made me a dick and almost made me want to say, "Well no one ever gave me anything for free, so why should I give you my time for free." I said fuck that and gave the best of my time and resources to this guy and Im glad I did.

It took about 5 hours and then I dropped him off at the airport. I kept thinking that this was a really cool memory to leave someone with, as their last day at the Gaiety.

Too much of this business is such bullshit, but I never want to be an asshole to people just cause a few people took advantage of me. I was very proud of myself and the fact that I did not give in to my instinct cater to the worst in me, but instead took the high road.

I am not that sad that the Gaiety is closed, for myself. I did not have enough time to get truly attached. But I feel bad for the guys who had the Gaiety as a major source of Gaiety and for all the guys who have been going there and enjoying it for such a long time.

I will end this by telling you of a very cool thing that I heard Stephano say to one of his friends on the phone. He told his buddy, "Dude, I dont know what these guys are gonna do here in New York. They dont have any place to go now." The kid is straight and he actually gave a shit about a bunch of gay guys and what had happened to a place that they loved....very very c

Thanks guys...

Nope Joel, definitely not blushing :-)

Unfortunately, I was raised in a family where good acts were expected to be the norm and as a result, it takes a lot for me to feel good about doing good...I usually just think that I did what I should be doing. Working on giving myself more positive emotional feedback when I do good shit.

Its always nice to be acknowledged though :-)

I never managed to make it to the Gaiety. Being that I don't go to New York as often as I used to, it just never happened. I would join the others in commending your kindness to Stephano. Taking the time to care and extend ourselves a bit is always a good thing.

Regardless of what others may say or do, you action was the correct and decent one to choose. I commend you for taking the high road! We need more of that in today's world.

Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Novice,

It was great to read your post and hear about your experience regarding the last days of

the Gaeity. Novice, you are much more than “decent” and if you chose to give your

parents credit for your compassionate nature and unselfishness, nothing wrong with

that. In the spirit of your story about helping Stephano with his project and not

expecting anything from him in return, I was reminded of a great line from a

classic Shirley Horn song, “Here’s to Life”, which reflects a philosophy all of us

would benefit from living by and which you demonstrated with your kindness to

Stephano - “I’ve learned that all you give is all you get, so give it all you’ve got.”

Keep on giving it all you’ve got my friend.

What a sad and sweet post, novice (and I'm thankful that you only got scatalogical 4 times: "you aint seen shit until he flexes," "the dance routine was the weirdest shit I ever saw in my life," "I do a lot of volunteer shit," and "the kid is straight and he actually gave a shit about a bunch of gay guys."). :p Seriously though, your parents did a good job with you. Derek is the same way -- always giving of himself to others -- and sometimes I'm the one saying, "Hey, what has he/she ever done for you?" but he doesn't think like that. It's definitely a good way to live your life.

And that's really sad about the Gaiety and Stella's. I had never been to the latter, and didn't really enjoy my 2 visits to the former, but I liked knowing they were there...just as I liked knowing that the gay bars and sex clubs and back rooms, many of which have been closed down in the last couple of years, were there, even though I never frequented them. It feels like a "straight-washing" of NYC and it makes me sad.

Rick-Check out LaFleur's

I only went to the Gaiety twice, both times as a guest of someone else, and although I certainly enjoyed the stage show, I got bored. There was no interaction with the dancers, certainly none with the customers AND no alcohol!

At Stella's, and now that it's opened, LaFleur's, although you don't see dick (as a rule) you get to chat with everyone, have a drink, get to see a slice of life and really cuts across all economic groups.

No, it's not a bar for everyone (i.e. I HATE Splash SBNY because sometimes it's so crowded you can't move, AND being short I hate really big crowds because I can't see anything, AND in large groups big guys always think it's funny to mess with me--pick me up while dancing or pretending to ram me from behind--and I don't like getting pawed by guys I don't know, as a rule!) but I always have a good time.

And just so you big tall top man know, picking up a shorter guy and having him ride you while standing is not as much fun as you might think AND you better have strong legs before you attempt this AND make sure your hands are lube free! If you drop me, it's going to hurt you alot more than it's going to hurt me...no matter how big your dick is!
