Just zipped in from the Apple. I tried to hook up with Kirk just to see whassup with that, but he wasn't available. So I moseyed over to the new Boy-Bar, Red. I almost didn't go in because 2 manly female couples preceded me. They didn't stay long. I guess the place was once a LezLounge.

There is only a VERY small sign on a non-discrept door leading to the upstairs bar. The place is small and divided into four sections. The main room has the bar with two very attractive and friendly bartenders. There are two TV screens playing XXX movies.

The adjacent room has a video game, seating area and a tiny box of a stage where a guy with a monster cock danced before he jumped up on the bar itself. He kept his G-string on but if that snake behind it was real, you might want to wear a protective glasses.

Behind that room is a dark room with benches for lap dances.

On the far end of the club there a room with a pool table and a few chairs. The bathroom was extremely clean, the overall ambiance comfortable, the music very good, the employees and manager very nice and the patrons for the most part were friendly. (Lots of speculation on whether the dancer's dick was real.)

We there hustlers there? Probably, but they certainly weren't as aggressive as the old days at Rounds. One guy with movie star good looks played video games until some older guy talked him into going to the pool room where they were chatting when I left. Another guy looked like a young Leonardo DiCaprio and was very friendly, but I think he may have had a connection with the club. I don't think he was working the sidelines.

For a Saturday night it was slow, but the club is brand new (other than a few weeks of preview parties). It'll probably pick up as word spreads and if they keep the cute bartenders and attract some young guys.

I'll check it out again in a couple of weeks.

Hi,

I thought the club "Red" was only open on Thursday nights. When I was in the city in December, I went to it and was told by the doorman that it is a regular dance club throughout the week except for Thursday nights. Have they changed their policy? Hope so. Take care, Hooboy. Robbguy

We get email inviting us to the Thursday night thing all the time. However, I think most escorts are ok with the internet and print work. Why risk getting busted, having to sit in a smokey bar and work in a public arena when it can be done easier and more privately? Im sure some do go, but not nearly like the days of Rounds when it was really the only way to find work.

A few months ago, here, there was extensive dialogue about how long RED would last before a police raid. I'd love to go there and have not based on the reportedly negative neighborhood atmosphere (a Judge lives around the corner) and the likely hood that the good looking kid was a cop. Is RED supposedly now accepted in NY livestyles, a safe place to go, and are there guys around to do lap dances and for how much. ( Can you touch) :-)

I'm still surprised it's open. On NYC Time Warner there is a show, Go

There TV, on local access which claims it is going to broadcast live

there with interview of escorts on Wednesday nights. I can't help but

think what wonderful evidence in court this show will make.

hi, guys,

i was IMing with a NYC escort last week and he mentioned something that i never considered. He said that you must never mention money exchanged for sex online as NYC is desperate for money since the 9-11 attack, with all of the lawsuits filed against the city, and the powers that be would consider any possible way to raise cash, including arresting people in order to collect fines. Is he being paranoid or is there any truth to this? It was a little unnerving to me. robbguy

This is the first I heard about this. It may or may not be true. However, here are some rules that you should live by whenever you are thinking about hiring an escort.

Rule number one: When you're online, you NEVER really know WHO you're dealing with. :-( The person who you think is an escort (even a highly regarded, well reviewed one), just might be wearing a REAL uniform. :o

Rule number two: When in doubt, refer to rule number one.

The bottom line is that sex and money should NEVER be mentioned in the same conversation regardless if that conversation is online, in person or on the phone. That's the easiest way to stay out of trouble.

Can I get some lap dances from the go-go boys at Red's?

Are those dances legal in NYC? I've been twice at The Gaiety and there are a lot of announces that warning you about fisical contact with dancers because NYC Health Authorities or something like that.

Differente rules for similar bars?

What are the rules/limits for lap dances at Red/NYC?

Same as Montreal's? (Campus Stock, etc)

If it is possible to get lap dances at Red's, Why The Gaiety is so strict about contac with dancers? I suposse that a side room there for lap dances could be a hit, dont'you?

I'm no expert on this subject... just what I've seen here but my understanding is that it has to do with liquor laws and licensing. Gaiety is the only place with nudity and thus no liquor. I suspect no hank panky in addition to no liquor is a requirement for their license. Why wouldn't they zealously guard it in these Guliani (sp) times.

Reds has lap dances in a dark side room. $20 bucks gets you reasonably long attention up close and personal. Based on one episode, touching is allowed almost everywhere and with some discretion and perservence, everywhere else. :-) , at least with the guy I engaged. And in this instance he was responsive a nonvoluntary sort of way if you get my drift. All of this probably varies with the guy. If this is your cup of tea you might have a good time. For me, the money is much better invested in other ways. HIre yourself a reputable escort and get on to serious business. As for lap dances, I'll save that for Montreal--though I have yet to visit, and must remedy. THis excursion to Reds was strictly exploratory.

FWIW :-)

I checked out RED last week, once during the week and the other time on saturday. On both nights, there were over 30 patrons. Not bad for a small bar. The bartender on Sat was very handsome and muscular (with his top off of course).

There were 4 go-go/lap dancers (2 white & 2 ??) each night of my patronage. I found them extremely enthusiastic (much more than Montreal boys) yet courteous. And, the answer is YES, there's alot of contact. The boys will even guide you. I was shocked when one of the boys commented "why are you so shy?" That's when I realized that I am not in Montreal.

$20 is not bad for 15 min considering that each song costs CAD10 up north. Since 3 songs = 15 mins, it works out to cost about the same.

Although the boys aren't as young (late 20's), they sure compensated with their playful personalities.

There was a very cute buffed blond on the weeknight who's truly jaw-droppingly beautiful who grinningly said to me "I can't take this off but do dig in and help yourself."

As you can see, the experiences were very very pleasant. Give it a try, I am curious what others feel about the place.

Not quite my experience... but maybe I was 'shy' or my dancer.

I guess we saw different Montreals... the Montreal I visited was on was the highway to heaven. }>

I found that some of the boys were very generous (in my favor) counting songs... and a few in other ways too. :D

There are rules and it is not wise to push them... and it pays dividends in some intstances if you don't. And even if you don't get 'extras' , there is something about a 23 year old knockout model type who gives you a free table dance up close and personal and then for the 10 $ encore in the back gives it again with hands on experience and he proceeds to literally make love to you as he dances... whew!! hot fantasy stuff. If he hadn't had to leave for his stage dance I might still be there. }>

Nilsson had it wrong when he wrote "the Lord must be in New York City" ...

For me NYC and Montreal are each a four hour drive. If I'm looking for dancing boys , it's a no-brainer. And just to make sure I wasn't the beneficiary of an unsual weekend, I'm headed back this next weekend for a consistency check. }>
