Finally, able to visit this Bayshore location that a couple of my friends who have been to Toronto says that the set-up is very similar. My boyfriend and I went there this past Monday just to check the place out: guess what, we ended up enjoying the place immensely that we had arranged to bring a couple to friend next week.

It is located in one of LI's industrial district:when you call the number at the 631 area code, it will be listed under Adam's

Woodworking. The sign says Fantasy outside the building: it caters to all preferences. One area for straight guys, one for gays, I guess the others for lesbians. $20 dollars gets you in. And the fun begins. All "working guys" are in g-strings, walking or chatting with each other and as soon as you walk in, they ask you if this is your first time. They give you a tour of the "facilities" and what they offer. The guys work on tips, so as soon as we were there, we candied two hunks, and I mean muscled guys: Oscar and Dennis. You can go into one of the private booths with them and anything can happen: use your imagination.

I would like us to support such business: especially since it is so close to NYC and so cheap!

Cab ride will be a little tricky because it can take you at least an hour or two if not more to get there from the city. And that could be very hefty especially if you get caught in the LIE traffic which is sometimes horrible. The Long Island Rail Road recommendation from the site is the way to do it if you plan to travel out there. If I am not mistaken, it's the Ronkokoma line of the LIRR. This you can get from the Penn Station, 34th Street and 8th Ave. And yes, the weekends are closed except the plan to open on Sundays in January. And this is confirmed by the owner. The location is Bayshore, Long Island which is a suburb of New York and not Manhattan, so there.

$20 to get in is cheap? plus you didn't mention the price for anything else, not to mention what i perceive to be the added trouble to get there. when i go to the gaiety i take a $7 dollar round trip train ride from nj, what would be the price of the roundtrip to this bar from penn station?

What's 20 bucks these days? And from what I can gather, it's not merely a bar. If it was more conveniently located (where would you like it to be - corner of Park & 64th?) it would probably be closed by now!

Sorry, SHY, but I hate to be the one to break your glass slippers. When I was growing up and have heard FAGS all over me tell me how they are trying to live their lives, one of them Queens said something that got stuck in my brain: IF YOU CANNOT LIVE THE LIFESTYLE, THEN DON'T! Remember, there will be gays who can afford escort day in and day out and those that cannot afford them at all! Those who can strut to Brazil every two weeks if they wanted to, or go Adams Wood when it's open! If you think that $20 is way too much a fee to pay to enter a gay bar in LI, then I am so sorry for you! This club is not for you. You maybe, deserve the streets of NY or NJ where you live, the bathrooms of the Path Trains where you can score a blowjob, or maybe a j/o, or try to subways at night, maybe there you can get lucky. Listen, in these places, there's still the element of surprise without paying for it! There is no love lost there! Here's hoping you be happy! But stay safe!

EXCUSE ME? i DO think $20 is too much to pay for another place to play, especially if it's so much harder to get to than the gaiety.

the admission there i think is steep, but, of course, i pay it on occasion when i visit in nj and want to see the beautiful men. guess other than that, i'll just have to be content with living my boring life in pennsylvania, and be content to fly back and forth to toronto and stay there in my condo. the cover to get in remingtons each night is only $5 cd, but of course on my low budget i bought the membership card for $50cd, good for a year, saving the nightly cover charge. anyway, thanks for all the advise on the low-budget amusement available to me on the streets of ny, since my condo in toronto will be rented for the months of jan, feb and march. i certainly wish you as much happiness as you wish me.

Listen, SHY, dearie, you have just contradicted yourself. You are complaining of a $20 entrance fee at the Lounge, yet you say you can schlep from wherever the hell you are to Toronto at such short notice and stay at your condo? How much do you spend in doing that: $15US? Anyhoo, no harm done, sweetie, since most cheap gays I know tend to contradict themselves a lot when it comes to getting and eventually paying for sex! Especially if you can't get it for free! $20 dollars is cheap for people living in NY, my dear. It cost me $25 just to watch Lord of the Rings in Manhattan yesterday: $12 for the ticket and $13 for a large popcorn and a Big Coke! Go figure. So don't fret if a gay lounge opens in Bayshore LI and charges $20 for you to get it: it is still cheaper. Don't say I don't like the Gaiety, I love the Gaiety. It's just that you can't even sample the dick after they have been served because it is just not allowed after you have paid $17 to see them. Enough said.

"hon", i'm not sure what got your "tits in a ringer". all i originally commented on was your choice of the word cheap. had you said average for nyc, or some such thing, you probably never would have heard from me. but if you recheck my original comment, i was also questioning the ease or difficulty of getting there, and what the train ticket would cost. innocent enough, i think, since most of my visits to nyc usually only involve the gaiety. i'm fully aware when i visit nyc that prices are more than i'm used to. after all, i've been to the gaiety enough times, not to mention dinner once in a while and a few shows.

call it a contradiction if you'd like, the condo comment seemed like a straightforward enough way to clue you in that i am beyond your economics 101 lesson you thought i needed, let alone your rude suggestions for cheap entertainment on your streets of ny.

i'm sorry about your high cost of living, but, we all make our choices. (i would have skipped the large popcorn and big coke.) as for me, i'll continue to enjoy nyc when i can, skipping "the lounge" until hearing more details that it is worth the time and trouble to get there, rather than other choices available to me.

Since you wanted to be known as the girl who picks up loose change from the streets, and you claim you frequent Canada, we have been throwing loose change down the Niagara falls since NY is so close, maybe you can scoop up enough to pay your way out to Adams Wood Lounge this time. No competition right now, it's a little bit cold out there!

Yes, they are closed Friday and Saturdays. This is in a big str8 establishment. The gay part is only a section. During the weekends, the whole place is str8.

As to the admission price, for $20 you get free soft drinks, treated like a welcome guest (yes, they greet us and take us on tours), lap dances in the main area, and videos. I'm not tooting their horn but they are most definitely worth the price of admission.

My only concern is that on the nights I was there, they had four "dancers." If we show up in any kind of numbers, there will be competition for the available entertainers. }(

so, when you say they will give lap dances in the main area, there aren't private booths for this, they will do it in the place where you are sitting enjoying your refreshments? then you tip the dancer for this, or there is a basic price per song for the "tip", as in montreal and toronto?

Lap dances in the main area, and this is extensive, are free but tips are expected if they don't lead to a private dance in one of the video booths.

In the booth, the price is $20 plus tip for an undetermined time. My only complaint about the place is the rates are open ended and I'm the kind of type-A who wants to know this ahead of time.
