Editing Problem

I just tried to edit one of my posts and got the message that "The editing period has expired".

 

This is the first time I've got a message like that. Has editing been permanently disabled or can someone define the current "editing period" for me?

Basically, you can edit your post for about an hour from the time that it was posted.
