It means there was an error logging you in. ;-)

 

It could be anything from a flaky Ethernet connection (if you're on an always-on cable or DSL connection), to hitting a flaky AOL router if you're on dial-up, to server maintenance having the user database offline for maintenance.

 

When you get them, it helps Daddy most if you'll note the time (and time zone), and post as many details as you can (connection type, etc.).
