Why is it that when I post more than once in the same thread, as I did just now in the Lounge, the number of previous posts remains the same--e.g., the counter says 850 posts on each of the three individual posts?

I don't know if this answers your question, but with every new post, the counter on every post you've ever made--from first to last--increases by one. So, when someone makes their 10th post, for example, all 10 posts will read "10" in their counters.
