Forum "subscriptions"

I just got unwanted email reagrding my "subscription" to the forums

and, when I checked the User Menu I discovered that for some reason

I was listed as receiving an email digest for some of the forums.

 

I don't recall ever even *seeing* that menu before and I certainly

never asked to be on *any* email digest for these forums.

 

Is this a new feature?

 

If so, it would be nice if it were introduced in such a way that

it didn't start sending random unsolicited email to people, and if

not, then what happened?

 

(btw I have already used the User Menu to unsubscribe to all of the digests ...)

HooBoy turned the feature on not realizing that SOME members (but not all) had some of the options to receive mail turned on. Apparently, the options are not set the same for everyone. (Probably changed with a version upgrade somewhere along the way.)

 

As soon as he realized what was happening, he turned the feature off again.
